One of the best hotel experiences I've ever had!! Stayed here for two nights and it was the highlight of my trip to Sri Lanka. The hotel itself is absolutely amazing. Beautifully decorated with lovely views and peaceful surroundings with many birds to see. They had recently had some wildfires nearby so apparently in normal times you can see even more wildlife than what I saw during my stay. There is also a stunning waterfall nearby (almost in the hotel grounds) that the staff take you to and that you can have completely to yourself or perhaps with a couple of locals. I also did a hike with the staff up to the mountain behind the hotel which was great. Then afternoons spent lazing in the pool, chatting to the staff and with complimentary High Tea as I watched the mist float through the mountains. There were no mosquitos in that area too which meant that they could have the large windows open (even at night!) with one whole side of the hotel open to the fresh air and views. There are only two rooms in the hotel, though they have plans to build another couple of buildings in the future (though also with a very secluded feel). I was the only one there during my stay which meant I had the whole place to myself 😍 The best thing about Capoe though is the staff. Isham, Eranda, the wonderful chef and the gardener who guided the hikes. They were all so friendly and attentive and really made my stay, especially as I was a solo traveller and they were very friendly and chatty (though also give you your space when you need it). I've never had a private butler before, let alone one that is trained in both wildlife spotting and making cocktails! Thanks so much Isham, you made my stay really special 🙏🏼 Can't wait to come back on my next visit to Sri Lanka! ❤️

The location was peaceful and serene, providing the perfect escape. The staff were exceptionally attentive, with impeccable attention to detail. The meals served during our stay were absolutely delicious and carried a nostalgic, home-cooked charm. A special highlight was the morning visit to Pahanthudawa Waterfall, thoughtfully arranged by the team, which made our experience even more memorable. Thank you to the entire team for your warm hospitality. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a quiet getaway from Colombo.

The Glenrock was an amazing experience. The location and environment were idyllic with mountains around it and an ever flowing river on the periphery. We spotted large billed birds in the trees, a mongoose, chipmunks and a giant squirrel who visited every morning for bananas. The rooms were large and equipped with all you needed, the bed was very comfortable and WiFi worked in all the rooms. The staff were amazing always on hand to help delivering ice, drinks and food to our rooms. The breakfasts were out of this world so tasty and so substantial. Dinner in the hotel dining area was so well managed it felt like a fine dining experience with drinks topped up, refills of food and attention to all the details. Compliments to the chefs the food was outstanding. We were taken to visit the waterfalls and the staff were very attentive insuring our safety at all times. The river in the grounds of the hotel provided us with such a giggle whilst we had "fish therapy", tiny fish nibbling your feet leaving them smooth and refreshed. We loved our stay here and would like to thank Iresh, Thushara, Duminda and the chefs. We would highly recommend you indulge in this experience

Beautiful and peaceful location with a river in the Back yard. Surrounded by greenery and forest. Lasantha and staff are warm and friendly and went above and beyond. I was leaving early morning to Horton Plains for a hike and they had a packed lunch ready for me at 4 am! The food was traditional and tasty. There are 3 cottages for accommodation with good wifi, comfortable bed and hot water.

The hosts were lovely and very welcoming. The location of the stay and the stay in itself is just so amazing. There wouldn’t be any network though but with a view like that… who cares! The homely meals served by Muthu aunty made us feel homely and the food was just amazing! We stayed just a night but I’d always recommend to stay a little longer as it’s just so calm and serene.
