The place is perfect! There is exactly what you need, a beautiful small pool, a large grass area, large rooms with air conditioning and a balcony, and most importantly the cleanliness, the staff was amazing, always helping with everything! The food is excellent, a bit expensive but really tasty. The villa is 35 minutes by tuktuk from Arugam Bay and a minute's walk from the sea (the beach is called Lighthouse)

This is PARADISE! exactly like I have seen it described in books. Everything is just created to make you not want to ever leave ❤️ me and my fiancé had such a great experience here. When we have arrived, we had a bad cold, and everyone has mobilized to make us feel better: pills, teas, all kinds of ayurvedic medicines were given to us to make us feel better. I felt like we were at our parents homes, and they're going above and beyond to make us feel better. Rooms: we got an upgrade to a room with bathroom and, even though we paid for the lower one, we were offered for free the upper one - very nice gesture 👍 we never slept better - ocean sound and breeze, there is a balcony for each cabana. Super clean, great design, bathrooms are big. Lovely :) The food: Italian base, I had the best pizza ever. Also, we love soup, so their chicken soup is perfect. Staff: amazing. Also, the owners are very fun and welcoming, it was a pleasure to meet them. Activities: the complex is at the ocean front. So we bathed and sun bathed, the weather was amazing. Also, you can learn how to surf, get a massage, play board games, go to safari, go into the lagoon on the beach or by boat, tuktuk to PottuVill, which is much better than Arugam Bay, being more local. I don't have enough good words for this accomodation. I am now looking at options to come back in Jan-Feb and stay for longer than 3 days 😄

Catherine and Michael managed to create an amazing, green oasis. Bungalows are not super fancy but very clean. You have a place to relax on the terrace - pillows and mattress. Food is very tasty and really affordable. You don't need to stick to any schedule. You eat when you want and where you want - in your bungalow or at the swimming pool. "Big wave 🌊" breakfast is delicious and enough even for 2 to share. The entire property is very clean and well maintained. Staff is super friendly and helpful and so are the owners. The swimming pool is big and clean.

We loved staying here! The rooms are beautiful, the outdoor bathroom with clothesline was the best. Really strong water pressure in the shower, comfortable bed in a big room with excellent A/C and fan. Breakfast was ample and yum, and the staff Svena and Raj are both lovely people who are helpful and kind. The garden is beautiful and nice to hang out in, and the location is so close to Pottuvil Point for sufring and good restaurants (especially Mr Moon and The Tasty Tuna). The village is quiet, calm and friendly. We'd have loved to stay longer.

We spent two weeks at Paper Moon and would like to share the following: LOCATION & ACCOMODATION Located directly next to Whisky Point Beach, this beautiful resort offers a very comfortable accomodation for travelers, who don’t want to stay in the center of Arugam Bay with all its bars, restaurants and busy tourist areas. Yes, there are not as many restaurant options in the area as in Arugam Bay and you may have to take a TukTuk to town if you wish to have that. The rooms are reasonably sized, comfortable, airconditioned and offer a very large bathroom. The surrounding area is peaceful and quiet. WIFI is fast and works in most areas. The pool area lies next to the beach, with enough shady spots under the palm trees to relax on one of the sunbeds. The closest surf spot is Pottuvil point, about a 15 minute walk on the beach. STAFF & SERVICE The whole staff of the resort is kind, very attentive, always friedly and available at any time. The resort team make sure that you feel well and cared for 24 hours a day. We never received a “no“ to any of our requests. Whether you need your laundry done, any extras for your room or a TukTuk-ride to Arugam Bay - Raja and his team will take care of it. HYGIENE & CLEANING The rooms were clean and well prepared upon arrival. Towels and bedsheets are changed every 5 days or upon request. Room cleaning also takes place every 5 days or upon request. Yes, you will find the occational bug or gecko in your room - you are staying in a very natural area of Sri Lanka (you may even see elephants in the area). Yes, you will encounter some crows or stray dogs in the restaurant & pool area - it is simply part of living in such an area. If you‘re looking for a luxurious 5-Star experience with daily room service and without having to lift a finger - you may want to book somewhere else. FOOD The restaurant offers good local food as well as some „western“ options.
