What made our week’s stay at Lagoon Gate Tangalle Resort truly exceptional was how well looked after we were by Lalith and his family. My friend and I were interested in yoga and exploring, and not only did Lalith connect us with everyone to ensure we had the best possible experiences, from yoga and kayaking to whale and turtle watching, but we got to discover the closely connected local community. Rooms were spacious and spotless, our meals were freshly home-cooked, and there was plenty to see in the tropical grounds. Tangalle is a stunning part of Sri Lanka, and we are grateful that we really got to make the most of it.

Awesome place overlooking a very broad and calm beach. Beautiful garden and big spacious rooms with air conditioning. We liked everything about our stay: location, breakfasts and tips from the owner about what to do in the neighborhood. You can go bird watching, go chill and swim in a reef- protected Harmony Beach. Overall amazing!

it was an incredible hotel. clean, nice-smelling bed linen. great breakfast. and the owner is one of the most friendly and kind people. It's a pity that we stayed for such a short time. If we return to Sri Lanka, we will definitely stay at this hotel.

The Hidden Garden is an oasis of calm. We were told it was a few minutes from the beach by going down a garden path and it really is. In the extensive hotel grounds you could not hear any noise from the beach bars and restaurants that dot the coast. The rooms were spotlessly clean and depending on the room you booked, had all amenities. The view from our veranda was really beautiful. The pool is fab. The staff were really friendly. They also do laundry and you can borrow a kayak to go around the lagoon that backs onto the Hotel. We saw a massive monitor lizard which was exciting! Tip-the address on booking .com is accurate for car travel. The address on Google only for on foot. I suggest you ring the Hotel to co-ordinate with your driver if you are coming by car. It is one of those places that is easy once you know!
