Brand new hotel and amazing staff. Especially Momo was super kind and helpful, not only for great service and recommendations for where to go, he did even bring fresh Aloe Vera to treat my Sunburn. Another special thanks to Dammika, the Executive Chef/Cook, who did serve super delicious dinner that was absolutely above and beyond for both, quality and taste, thank you so much! We really enjoyed the pool, room, view, comfortable beds, great service and more. For us the hotel was the best and most relaxing accommodation that we could think of to explore around Tangalle - We would love to come back!

Halcyon is a new hotel with a great pool and an incredible location right at the beach. The beach invites for walks and also swimming as the waves are not too big. The staff are attentive and the service is excellent. Rooms and bathrooms are spacious and well equipped. The design of the entire hotel is beautiful and thought through to the last detail. The hotel has sup boards and kayaks which can be used to explore the lagoon right behind. And the owner has many very useful tips for exploring the area, and sri lanka. It is a great place to start your holiday, for couples and for families too.

Staff is to be mentioned first. Guys are amazing. Our stay was always taken care of. The location and the setup of the hotel could not be better. It is like 30 meters from you terrace to the beach. Pool is great as well. So is the restaurant. Food is very very good.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay – it truly is a dream destination. Every detail has been carefully taken care of by the owners, reflecting their dedication. What stands out the most is how they’ve managed to combine a sense of luxury with a laid-back, natural ambiance. It never felt overdone, but perfectly integrated with the surrounding nature, creating a serene and inviting atmosphere. The staff, both in the restaurant and in maintaining the property, were outstanding – attentive, professional, discrete and always smiling. We really appreciated the exceptional attention to every aspect. A truly unforgettable stay.

Very warm and calm atmosphere, very nice staff that makes everything for you, a nice room and generous breakfast. The pool in the lovely garden is a perfect place for relaxation. Also enjoyed watching the wild monkeys surrounding the garden.

I really loved the concept of this villa where it really felt like home. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, the place was super clean and the food very delicious, the view on the private beach was extraordinary we would sit there forever looking at the natural rocks and white sand.

    The owners and staff were delightful - the service great. The cabannes were in the style of my travels 50 years ago and a great reminder of how simple life can (and should) be. For eating there is plenty of choice in the area and all easy walking but not always in 32 deg 😂

    Tangalle is a mix of typical large commercial local Sri Lankan town buzz combined with touristy beach / restaurant / bar area. Very laid back along that 'strip', many bars and restaurants vying for business so you can be selective.

    Perfect place to relax by the beaches, some of them are like or similar a near private beach type; but, difficult to swim. Generally, the waves and current are rough and sometime dangerous to rocky beaches; in early morning time, 9-10 am, waves and current can be managed to some extent....

    It’s more of a local sleepy town and less touristy than the rest of the south coast. Lots of great beaches and family run restaurants. I could have easily used it as a base and stayed longer had the weather been better.

    Tangalle is a hidden gem!

    Tangalle is a hidden gem! So many wonderful beaches around the town. I stayed by the Goyambokka beach but preferred the neighbouring Silent beach, which was longer and so beautiful. I had dinner at neighbouring South Sea Pearl Beach restaurant, which served amazingly delicious food.

    The town has very little to offer.

    The town has very little to offer. It’s a noisy, chaotic typical Sri Lankan town. The only redeeming factor was Silent Beach on the Western side of town. We also enjoyed a nice meal at Cactus Lounge.

    The quality of the offering was excellent from the facilities, staff through to the food was beyond my expectations. On site add-ons such as massage and laundry service was provided too, for a small 6 bedroomed hotel that was excellent. Super place for a total chill to savour Sri Lankan hospitality at its best. Thanks to Dinuka and team for an amazing stay, even the unexpected downpours could not dampen my spirits at Coco Tangalle. I travel to Sri Lanka often, this one is going to be a repeat.

    While the property and the location are both great, the best part about our stay was meeting the owners of Sasagara. The family who own the property are lovely and charming, they helped us plan our days in Tangalle and serve a tasty breakfast and dinner. The space is nice for interacting with other patrons if you like but also very easy to stay private if that is what you're after. The beach is also only a 30 second walk away. One of our best stays in Sri Lanka so far!

    Beautiful hotel right on the beach, in a quiet part of Tangalle. Very friendly people, the reception can arrange all sorts of excursions. Nice restaurant and bar, with both Sri Lankan and Western options. Guests can use the swimming pool of the hotel next door, it even has a pool bar. Fantastic to take a plunge with views of the ocean after a hot day. Would definitely recommend staying here to recharge your batteries!

    This is the best hôtel we had in our all trip in Sri Lanka!! The owner and her family are amazing people, very helpul and friendly. The rooms are big and confortable, beautiful and very clean. And the breakfast is really delicious. The location is top, 5 mins walks from the nearest beach and not far from Silent beach. Its the best time to visit sri lanka as everything works fine for the tourist .

    We loved everything! Great location, it's inly a 5 minutes walk along the lagoon to get to the beach and the best coffee place in Tangalle. Very kind staff, great service. Excellent breakfast, both Sri Lankan and western food. Comfy beds, nice swimming pool and overall a nice exotic colonial atmosphere that we loved. We definitrly recommend this lovely hotel!
