We had such an amazing stay! The room was modern and had everything we needed, also breakfast was great. It is quiet, but near the beach and restaurants. The owner was so nice and helpful, who went the extra mile for a perfect stay.

I should have stayed longer! It's such a lovely place to stay. Quiet, near the beach. The owners are incredibly kind and the breakfast more than good! Excellent stay, very much recommended!

Definitely one of my favorite stays in all of Sri Lanka. The location is everything and the staff is so kind and careing. I stayed for two nights to enjoy a birdwatching tour on Kalamitya Bird Sanctuary and when I got back I got an amazing breakfast. Furthermore the swimming pool area is fabulous with excellent sunbeds and service around. The view is stunning. The hotel itself, unusual to most places in Sri Lanka, is very well decorated. That will include some interesting historical pictures hanging on the wall, gorgeous wooden colors and very well designed bathrooms. I would definitely advice this place to anybody visiting this part of Sri Lanka. I read something about stray dogs. If you're not into stray dogs probably you shouldn't visit Sri Lanka at all. They were harmless and cute at least at this place and no more then three

We absolutely loved our stay at simply peace. The place is so beautiful, clean, aesthetic and the staff is really friendly. A great plus is the outdoor gym which we used daily and is super well equipped. Overall I can highly recommend it for a relaxed, healthy stay.

The owners and staff were delightful - the service great.

The owners and staff were delightful - the service great. The cabannes were in the style of my travels 50 years ago and a great reminder of how simple life can (and should) be. For eating there is plenty of choice in the area and all easy walking but not always in 32 deg 😂

Tangalle is a mix of typical large commercial local Sri Lankan town buzz combined with touristy beach / restaurant / bar area. Very laid back along that 'strip', many bars and restaurants vying for business so you can be selective.

Perfect place to relax by the beaches, some of them are like or similar a near private beach type; but, difficult to swim. Generally, the waves and current are rough and sometime dangerous to rocky beaches; in early morning time, 9-10 am, waves and current can be managed to some extent....

It’s more of a local sleepy town and less touristy than the rest of the south coast. Lots of great beaches and family run restaurants. I could have easily used it as a base and stayed longer had the weather been better.

Tangalle is a hidden gem!

Tangalle is a hidden gem! So many wonderful beaches around the town. I stayed by the Goyambokka beach but preferred the neighbouring Silent beach, which was longer and so beautiful. I had dinner at neighbouring South Sea Pearl Beach restaurant, which served amazingly delicious food.

This was one of the best accommodations where we stayed in Sri Lanka. It is immediately seen that host is taking good care of his property, his rooms and his guests, which can be a rare thing on Sri Lanka. If you need any advice, he will be there to help you. Location is very peaceful, you can also chill on bean bags. You need to walk only one or two minutes to reach a nice beach and on another side there are many restaurants, also in walking distance. If you are looking for a good place to stay in Tangalle, this is the place to be.

The owner and everyone at shine wave are very friendly and caring. The area around the hotel is very quiet and the beach is beautiful. We also saw turtles. There are very good restaurants around as well. If you like it quiet, you will love shine wave. Also the rooms are very new and comfortable. Breakfast was good, too. Shine wave was one of the best placed we stayed at during our travel through Sri Lanka.

It’s a boutique hotel with ~ 10 chalets whilst property is really big which gives a lot a space for the guests. The bar / restaurant has the best view, the food ia great and the service excellent. The beach is quite yet with 10 minutes with the Tuk Tuk you’re in Tangalle. We had one of the bigger chalets which was great with the family.

It is very close to turtle beach. Good location for turtle watching. It has an inhouse restaurant, which is good, as the hotel is a bit in the middle of nowhere (10 km from the centre of Tangalle). Calm surroundings. Coffee was ok compared to other Sri Lankan hotels. The staff of the hotel was nice.
