Otis Reading wasted time sitting and watching over a bay. He would have loved to waste time here. As did I Came for 2 nights stayed a week. Feels like a homestay. Run by the kindest and most helpful family. Don’t worry the rooms are private. Especially the smaller lower room. Both have their own little courtyard to hang out in. We had the bigger room with our family with small children. Nice big beds. Brand new AC. Spacious and clean bathroom. Breakfast was really nice but we like to explore a bit more so we skipped it after a few days. This bay is still a small village now. Just enough bars and restaurants to keep it from being too silent. And a surprising high quality of those. Check my other reviews for tips. The local tuktuk guys can bring to the busy more famous beaches in the area in notime for a fear price. They also pick you back up to bring you home safely. Way better than hoping the uber/pickme guy doesn’t cancel again. Small details: A cleanup of the room is nice when staying longer. The black dogs are super nice but the white once barks. It should learn to behave. Don’t expect luxury, do expect value for money. I’ll remember this place for a long time. As always, everybody gets five stars

I loved my stay at La Playa, I wished I was there more days! The rooms are simply beautiful and stylish. Food at the restaurant was very tasty. I loved their pizza and fresh juices. The staff was very helpful and kind!

Brand new hotel and amazing staff. Especially Momo was super kind and helpful, not only for great service and recommendations for where to go, he did even bring fresh Aloe Vera to treat my Sunburn. Another special thanks to Dammika, the Executive Chef/Cook, who did serve super delicious dinner that was absolutely above and beyond for both, quality and taste, thank you so much! We really enjoyed the pool, room, view, comfortable beds, great service and more. For us the hotel was the best and most relaxing accommodation that we could think of to explore around Tangalle - We would love to come back!

We loved our stay at Belika! We spent 2 nights and loved it so much that we wanted to extend, but unfortunately the place was fully booked up. The room has a fun layout with an amazing view over the ocean. The breakfast was so tasty and the iced coffee was the best!! The hosts were very welcoming and helpful. Great location 5-7 min walk away from Hiriketiya beach but secluded enough for a totally peaceful experience.

We stayed for 4 nights and would certainly return! Overall a fantastic hotel. Hotel setting is idyllic with amazing pool to lounge around and only 10 metres from the beach - but privacy maintained by palm trees which also provide some much needed shade! Free bodyboards to borrow should you fancy some water-sports which we used everyday :) Only 10 rooms, so very personal (and fantastic) service and small hotel feel which was fab. Felt very secure. Hotel bar located upstairs above the main restaurant is a nice spot for pre dinner cocktails - which were great. Downstairs, right next to the pool is the restaurant which serves fantastic food - the menu is rotated every day for lunch and dinner, so plenty of variety if staying for a few days. Breakfast also very good, and the best coffee we had in Sri Lanka! Everything is cooked fresh to order, but this does mean some meals took a while to arrive particularly at breakfast (our only recommended area of improvement for the hotel)! We intended to do a few day trips, but the hotel was so good we ended up only venturing out for one evening. We hope to return!

Incredible location, had all of the facilities for a comfortable stay, the sound of the waves crashing on the beach made for a peaceful and tranquil location. The hosts were amazing - so friendly and welcoming. Nothing was a problem. Very generous breakfast; best we have had in Sri Lanka.

House on the Bend is the perfect combination between a hotel and a guesthouse: It has all the comfort and privacy of a hotel, as well as the family feel and kindness of a guesthouse. Sisira was attentive to our every need and Gayangi cooked us great gluten-free breakfasts every day. We were initially going to stay for two nights but ended up extending to four because we loved the place: the rooms are super comfortable and you really have everything you need, even a lovely balcony with a table and chairs. The location is perfect as it is a five-minute walk to the beach, and close to so many restaurants for dinner. Thank you so much for everything!
