What a wonderful stay we had at Taru Villas. We booked last minute and were greeted warmly by Mark when we arrived. We quickly realised that as it was low season, we had the entire hotel to ourselves! We were upgraded to the best room on the property with a gorgeous jacuzzi overlooking the jungle. The room was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. Full board was included in the room price and we enjoyed an outstanding 3 course breakfast, lunch and dinner cooked specially for us by the chef. The key highlight for us was the outstanding service and friendliness of the staff. They couldn’t do enough for us. A lovely touch at the end of our trip was that they had arranged for us to plant a tree in their gardens, and had prepared a beautiful plaque with our names inscribed. It was a truly memorable trip and couldn’t have been any better. I highly recommend to everyone!

Backwaters was a lovely spot on the doorstep to the western gate of Wilpattu. They organised a game drive for us (where we saw lots), a river trip and boat ride to our next destination. The rooms and grounds are full of nice, environmentally friendly touches, and the meals are great. Since the centre of the park is a little ways from this gate, a full day game drive turned out to be better than a half day - and allowed usto see lots of elephants at the end of the day.

With lake views, The Coconut Experience Eco Lodge Wilpattu is situated in Nagamadu and has a restaurant, a 24-hour front desk, snack bar, garden and terrace.

I loved how peaceful and immersed in Nature I felt. It was a real detox stay with a wonderful atmosphere. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful and the stay wouldn’t have been such a success without them. I particularly loved the rooms which were both spacious and modern with everything we needed. The outdoor shower was a particular highlight! I’d also recommend all the experiences which were super enjoyable and also informative.

Riswan and his family are so hospitable and proud to introduce you to wonderful Sri Lankan food, traditional life and wildlife. A very peaceful setting next to the river and rice paddy fields. Monkeys played in the tree beside my treehouse, and I could watch fishermen patiently catch fish from my balcony. Everyone is so friendly. I took a nice walk to a wetland area just 15 mins walk and saw birds, monkeys and a mongoose. Riswan will arrange everything for you - meals, transport, food, safari, its all very easy, just let him know what you want. A very special thanks to "Auntie" for her amazing coffee, so no worries if you crave caffeine, strong, black, sweet and delicious.

My bungalow was spotless and very comfortable. The aircon and WiFi were great. The food in the restaurant was really good and all cooked fresh to order. The hosts were also very friendly and helpful. Great place to stay in Kalpitiya!

We had a fantastic stay at the Leopard Inn, the manager Prathap was ever so friendly, a great guy, always smiling and willing to help. He organized a halfday safari in the National Park Wilpattu and later a boat safari in the lagune and in the mangroves of the Park, it was great. Prathap explained us about the animals and trees on the resort. If you ever in the area, stay at the Leopard Inn !

Very nice place, good welcome from the owner. Room with view and terrace, clean, quiet. I recommend ! Besides, the owner propose Kitesurf lesson. I learnt with him for 3 days, good teacher and kind !
