The buildings are lovely.
The buildings are lovely. There's plenty of places to eat and local sightseeing. The only thing I would comment on is that there aren't any large shops(that we came across, anyway). Lots of small convenience stores and bakeries but only the basics. If you have hired a car or don't mind getting buses to bigger shops then it's a non issue. Rabat was a pleasant surprise . It was very pleasant to wander the lanes of the old town , lots of nooks and crannies. Plenty of places to eat and drink , all types , also little shops that you could miss if no time to explore. Locals very friendly and helpful. A completely different side to Malta from Valletta. Rabat's main attraction will always be its proximity to Mdina, but there is plenty to enjoy in the town, including some great pastries and restaurants and the fascinating underground shelters and catacombs. You will find so many historical places there to see. The most beautiful for us was historical Mdina - about 5-10 min from hotel. Everyday you can choose different breakfast from the list ( all are delicious). Also there is a swimming pool for guests. Rooms are clean and hotel interior design has an ancient classic style. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful about leaving cases. The breakfast was excellent and the evening meal we took there was also vey good, although with so many superb restaurants in Rabat, we only took advantage of this once. We had a beautiful private balcony overlooking the square. Every detail of the decor had been considered which made our stay feel quite special. Breakfast was plentiful, fresh and delicious. The hotel is environmentally friendly and we were happy to do our bit too by separating our rubbish.
