Celine, the hostess, was exceptional. I was travelling alone ( and being elderly), she helped me every night with what I should do the next day, how best to get there and what to see etc. She was truely outstanding in every way. You would never find a better host anywhere. I have traveled extensively and could not have been happier with this stay. The accommodation is also very good, spacious rooms, great breakfast area and separate restaurant, plus a great bar, plus swimming pool. The whole palazzo was an amazing place. Very quiet and safe area.

The property is situated in a lovely quiet street, very close to all amenities. It was immaculately clean and equipped with everything you need in a self catered apartment. The bedding and towels were freshly laundered and all the appliances were top of the range. The bed was very comfortable in the beautifully furnished bedroom.Michelle, the hostess was amazing, she was friendly with a lovely nature. She made us feel very welcome!

Our stay at Palazzo Castagna Boutique hotel was an unparalleled experience. The serene room, outstanding staff, and exceptional food all combined to create a memorable stay. I had read several reviews mentioning the disturbance caused by nearby church bells. However, to our delightful surprise, this was not our experience at all. Even with the hotel's proximity to the church, our room remained a haven of peace and quiet. With the windows closed at night, we didn't hear a single bell, ensuring uninterrupted sleep and a serene atmosphere. This hotel is not just a place to stay; it's a destination in itself, one that I wholeheartedly recommend to anyone seeking a flawless hotel experience. A well-deserved ten out of ten!

Authentic Malta with a beautiful local church which houses a very interesting museum. Local bus and taxi will take you to all the closest shops and amenities. Good local Turkish take away and restaurant.

The town is uninteresting and feels unsafe.

The town is uninteresting and feels unsafe. It's like stepping back in time. There's nothing to see and everything is under construction. I didn't like it at all. I wouldn't recommend it. There are much nicer small towns just 3 or 4 kilometers away.

A picturesque neighborhood where local people live, so you can really appreciate what Maltese life is like, but the neighbors are very against tourists. I traveled with a small child and they never made it easy for me to sit on a bus intended for travelers with children, however, they did for the locals.

A beautiful, authentic location.

A beautiful, authentic location. No new developments disrupt the historic character. If you ever visit Malta, definitely visit the Zabbar-Three Cities region of Valletta; the rest of the island is either too touristy or too "poor."

Within walking distance of Birgu (20 minutes).

Within walking distance of Birgu (20 minutes). Then take a ferry or small rental boat (for €2 per person) to Valletta. A great way to visit Valletta and the Three Cities. A good location for visiting Marsaxlokk with a rental car.
