Simply put, this is a truly magnificent place to stay in Maldives and there’s hardly anything one can compliant about. We visited The Residence in February, and it has been a fabulous experience. The island is conveniently located within a short boat ride from the local airport of Koodoo but at the same time warrants a feeling that you’re in a secluded paradise hideaway. It’s large enough so that you never feel it’s crowded and at the same time small enough to get from one end to another within a few-minutes bike ride (well-maintained bikes are provided complimentary for each villa). Beaches are beautiful with powder like sand, clean (though we’ve occasionally seen some debris) and the whole island enjoys lush greenery with hundreds of palm trees providing much desired shade and the jungle-like experience. The west side of the island seems a bit prettier due to spectacular green-blue shades of water; the east side of the island has seagrass at the bed which although very much needed to protect local ecosystems provides less spectacular water colours. The ability to go to the adjacent island via the wooden bridge connecting them is really nice and you can enjoy the sun at the sand bar located in between. The staff has been extremely nice and helpful, from the moment we’ve been taken over at the Male airport, through the journey to the island, at the reception, restaurants, water sports centre and everywhere else, we’ve always felt well taken care of. The villas are clean, extremely spacious (bathroom area is enormous), well maintained and equipped. Beds are comfortable, there’s plenty of seating area, AC and Wi-Fi work well, mini fridge is restocked every day. Again, the lush greenery separating villas in a very natural way provides privacy and shade, and most importantly the sea view is not obstructed. The private pool is amazing and provide the opportunity to cool off in the heat of the sun, at 1.

All the staffs were very sweet, friendly and supportive. At the end you feel like you are leaving your family. The island is quite big as well so there are some places to explore and never felt it’s boring there. Beaches are well decorated with big pool and enough sun beds, overall experience was amazing.

Great price on domestic flights helped make the desicion easy. SPA massage 5 day treatment package was just perfect combination, both for skin and muscles. I had Ida every day doing my massages and she was the best. I fell asleep every time, and I came in so tense and nervous because of a interview and test I had to go through. Ida is also very personal and so welcoming and warm it makes the whole experience much better. Then the best for me because I am a snorkeler is the house reef. One of the best in Maldives it even got confirmed by a liveaboard I went on afterwards. The drop is amazing but it qas a bit of a work out getting there from my room 307 because of current and tides. You have to time it correctly and be a good swimmer. After a stressful test and interview I went out and within 45 min I luckily had 70 encounters of black tip sharks amongst the thousands of reef fish.and on that took my breath away a bull shark. Wow wow wow! The buffet was absolutely amazing aswell that I didn't want to try the a la carte at the Italian restaurant because I was afraid to miss something great from the buffet. Themed nights but always one or two dishes that would be different. Don't miss grill or Maldivian evening!!!! Best was the staff, everyone smiling happy and asking you personal questions and remembering you. But also what you order. I love that it is personal and not too posh service.

Everything, last days there me and my wife were thinking about this place and we agreed that this hotel and its stuff - just amazing! We’ve spend the week and had NO negative experience at all. It’s our second time on Maldives, and we travel a lot around the world, and stayed in many hotels (from cheap to most expensive) - but rarely we can give someone 10 out of 10, but this one deserve it. The stuff is very friendly and entertaining, making your stay even better.

Hotel room was very spacious and clean, air condition working + silent! English breakfast (eggs + sausages), toast bread, jam, porridge, tea and coffee. I really enjoyed dinner at the hotel (rice and curry), the chef is fantastic. Only a pool was missing, but then, it's only a 10min walk to the beach.

Beautiful resort connected to two islands with a 1 km wooden bridge on top of the sea. The water pool Villa was amazing and quiet. The sky at night had all the starts in view. The personnel of the hotel friendly and attentive, would say “hello” and “good morning” to everyone. There are golf buggies to take you from all the places of the islands you are (waiting time was 5 to 15 min max). They offered us bicycles to move around and the vegetation in the islands was lash and fantastic. The only thing I would suggest is more options of food items at the buffet, lunch/dinner. If I compare the buffet lunch/dinners at the Residence Zanzibar… it has a big difference.
