We very pleased with our stay at hostal Oro Verde with excelente owners Dulce and Aleph and their families. The hotel keeps what it promises (and that's not a little). They offer tour around bunch of cenotes where isn't known even by other locals. And that beautiful experience on the fresh nature was completely amazing, which was explained very well by them taking the time. The atmosphere of building is quite familiar and you are quickly familiar with all the offers and procedures. The house is time-honored and at the same time very nicely restored and modernized. We also liked the interior design extraordinarily well. Of course, the garden you can do camping is unique. We were also completely satisfied with the room, In the interior, where the sun comes in, are at the same time the showers and kitchen are quite clean(they clean there every morning at early hours) And great are the breakfast times, whereby we found the concept with kind of organic breakfast ordering great, especially as the selection is large and the food is of very good quality. Generally the hostel is in very good condition, the staff are very friendly and helpful, all rooms are always clean. We can highly recommend the place and will gladly come back. Definitely here is the best hostel in Homun.

A super cool place to stay in Homun. Very friendly owner. Large, green, well kept garden. Comfortable, clean rooms with garden view. Delicious food at onsite restaurant (very quite - not accessible to people from outside). Swimming pool. A great place to spend few days enjoying nearby cenotes.

It was one of the best stays we had here in Mexico. Quite central in the town of Homun, Papagrande has everything you need to stay some days. We also had cheap and very good breakfast there! The 2 doggies of the property are very nice too. Thank u very much for the comfy stay !

Homun is a wonderful town that thrives on the Cenote tourism, but mainly catering to Mexican tourists, espicallit folks from Merida out for weekend escapes and such. As Americans, we were a bit of novelty, but everyone was lovely and patient with our imperfect Spanish. The Finca itself is slightly hard to find; most street numbers are hard to spot from the street, and the outside wall is anonymous. But inside is a beautiful wonderland; it would be a fantastic place for a large family gathering or group of friends traveling together.

located in the heart of the cenotes natural reserve , this glamping site was a great change to the normal hotels we usually book. the site is fantastic and the fire camp is amazing … with marshmallows provided …. the kids were delighted ! also amazing to meet Mexican touring the area and we spent the evening talking with the other glampers around the fire pit. we slept well in the tent and had Cindy towels and bed linen … very cozy ! the pool is stunning , the restaurant is very tasty : we had their homemade pizzas and their homemade pancakes for breakfast. 2 meals for 4 + drinks costed us 1000 MXN … and all that with the friendliest staff !

A spectacular property in the forests with: - gardens that are manicured just at the right level - its own cenotes (you can swim in one semi-open one, not sure about the other ones) - its own cave that you can visit with a (Spanish) guide - a mirador just like in the pictures (only open in the morning and evening, but I'm sure if you asked you could go up during the day) - a bonfire place near the tents - a spa for massages Everything is beautifully designed and so well thought through. A few notes: - When we were there in July, the place was very quiet, which added to the magic. - In my head, I had expected more jungle (could have probably known better with more research). The "jungle retreat" was less jungl-y than a number of places we had come from between Valladolid and Celestun. No howler monkeys, no big snakes, etc. (I don't think) However, we did see a grey fox (!), iguanas and lots of beautiful birds and butterflies. - Because I wanted a full jungle immersion experience, I had booked a tent - they have a lot of "windows" and I thought you would be closer to nature than in a concrete house. However, since we visited in July with 36° C and high humidity, we decided to move to a suite (with AC; the tents have fans only of course). They were absolutely gorgeous (a shower open to the sky! a whirpool! a daybed! two hammocks!) and because there weren't very loud jungle noises at night anyway, I don't think we actually missed out. - The restaurant was great. You can probably drive to Tekit (we didn't), but I'm not sure there are many decent alternative food options there, so you might be a bit limited. - We brought many bottles of water. Turns out this was unnecessary - you get water everywhere. - Communication works via WhatsApp; they were very responsive and helpful. - The staff happily drove elderly people around in buggies. - This is a place to go to for pure relaxation. - The Internet was no problem at all.

This was an amazing experience. What Franky and his family have built is so special. We learned so much about life in the Yucatan, both ancient and modern. Franky also had great travel tips. We had asked for dinner and it was delicious. Our daughter loved the experience especially all the animals. The shower was properly hot.

Homun is a small town with developing facilities that is at the center of the Ring of Cenotes - there are 20 or more either within or close to town limits. It's fairly quiet and not much to do except visit the Cenotes. One of the better places to stay is Hotel Santa Maria - it has a good restaurant, bottomless coffee refills, and a pool.

    Adjust your expectations.

Adjust your expectations. Staying at Cabañas Santa Cruz feels more like a glorified tent camping rather than room lodging. Other the the Church building, there are not a lot of things to do in Homún, it’s mainly cenotes.
