The courteous reception staff when checking in, room facilities were good, a wonderful Riverside walkway just behind the hotel and good local food available readily near the hotel. And if one comes in during the weekend, there is a night bazaar opposite the hotel with many stalls.

The overall standard of AC Hotel Kuantan is not inferior to hotels in big cities. The counter receptionists had good attitudes, especially Ms. Lynn. She was professional and friendly. She happened to be the one handling check-in and check-out. When checking out, she remembered that I had booked 3 rooms. I originally booked 2 deluxe king rooms and 1 premium king room with sofa bed on the booking.com website, but the counter directly upgraded the 3 rooms to the more expensive premium king room with sofa bed at no additional cost. They also helped arrange 3 rooms side by side so that we could take care of each other. Even the housekeeping staff i met at the corridor was also very polite and friendly. The hotel should be newly renovated and the whole hotel is very new. The room is very spacious, very clean and comfortable, and has large windows that allow outside light to shine into the room. The room has sufficient equipment, a safe, ironing board and iron, slippers, etc. The king-size bed is huge, and the pillows, quilts, and mattresses are clean and comfortable. The toilet cubicles are also very good. I like the bath products prepared by the hotel, which are scented with fruits and plants. The breakfast options are also good, with Chinese, Western, and local food. I would highly recommend AC Hotel to everyone. After staying in the AC Hotel by Marriott, I decided to join their Marriott Bonvey membership programme 😀

Service was outstanding, the room was spacious and comfortable, awesome view on the river, and a great shower. Fridge in the room and good workspace for laptop. Also, compliments to the chef for his scrambled eggs!

    My main concern during my stay there was the hangout spots,...

    My main concern during my stay there was the hangout spots, especially at night. Since we all know Kuantan is Negeri Darul Event, I purposely came on weekdays. There are a lot of cafes, and if you stay nearby or in Kuantan city, some of them are within walking distance. During my stay there, i fully depending on the public transport and grab obv. I managed to try some of the famous things like Kula Cakes, celup tepung and the “tourist beach.” I haven’t tried their truly authentic local food yet or fully experienced the nature and culture due to my short stay but I definitely will someday. Overall, it was a great experience, and I highly recommend it for solo travelers.

    There are a lot of lovely beaches in Kuantan that you can go to besides Teluk Cempedak. All you need to do is a lil homework by scrolling the internet or social media — you’ll be surprised at the hidden gems waiting to be explored! 🌊✨

    Kuantan is a nice city.

    Kuantan is a nice city. It is not too busy, but traffic can be quite hectic at certain times. The beaches give a plus point to this city. You can get all basic necessities here. Food price is regular but the portion is bigger than larger cities like KL. If you plan to come for some downtime, relaxing, and sightseeing, this city is perfect. But if you want real city life, please go elsewhere.

    The town itself, was dissapointing. not lively, service level in supermarkets & local MC Donald was below par., not catering for visitors from outside the state. The beach environment was fNtastic. Clean and well taken care of.

    I love how Kuantan strikes a balance between being laidback...

    I love how Kuantan strikes a balance between being laidback and offering just the right amount of entertainment. The city boasts a great selection of delicious food, including Chinese, Malay, and Indian cuisine, along with plenty of amazing cafes to explore. Beyond that, the surrounding nature, including lush waterfalls, stunning beaches like Teluk Cempedak and Pantai Balok and scenic hiking spots, makes it an ideal destination for both foodies and outdoor enthusiasts. The slower pace of life here, combined with its hidden gems, gives Kuantan a unique charm that keeps drawing me back.

    My Eid stay in Kuantan was smooth and enjoyable. Check-in was quick, and the staff were warm and welcoming. Our rooms were clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed, with good Wi-Fi and air conditioning. Breakfast was a nice mix of local options—nasi lemak and roti canai were definite highlights. Housekeeping was efficient, and the service throughout was great. The hotel’s location made it easy for us to visit family and friends in Kuantan. Overall, it was a pleasant stay, and I would definitely consider coming back.

    I like the location. Easy to find food, nice and private beach and it is actually in the middle between Kuantan City and the beaches, Teluk Cempedak, Pantai Batu Hitam and Pantai Balok. Lots of shop selling keropok lekor and keropok keping along the road outside the residence. Highly recommended.
