My main concern during my stay there was the hangout spots, especially at night. Since we all know Kuantan is Negeri Darul Event, I purposely came on weekdays. There are a lot of cafes, and if you stay nearby or in Kuantan city, some of them are within walking distance. During my stay there, i fully depending on the public transport and grab obv. I managed to try some of the famous things like Kula Cakes, celup tepung and the “tourist beach.” I haven’t tried their truly authentic local food yet or fully experienced the nature and culture due to my short stay but I definitely will someday. Kuantan is a nice city.
Kuantan is a nice city. It is not too busy, but traffic can be quite hectic at certain times. The beaches give a plus point to this city. You can get all basic necessities here. Food price is regular but the portion is bigger than larger cities like KL. If you plan to come for some downtime, relaxing, and sightseeing, this city is perfect. I love how Kuantan strikes a balance between being laidback and offering just the right amount of entertainment. The city boasts a great selection of delicious food, including Chinese, Malay, and Indian cuisine, along with plenty of amazing cafes to explore. Beyond that, the surrounding nature, including lush waterfalls, stunning beaches like Teluk Cempedak and Pantai Balok and scenic hiking spots, makes it an ideal destination for both foodies and outdoor enthusiasts.
