It had a great restaurant & pool. The staff also helped us book a private car, with a driver, from Maputo to Tofo. The hotel was fantastic with a nice big tv where we could watch Netflix & relax after a busy day. Very clean & the staff were so friendly. It’s right next to the President of Mozambiques house! It was in a good area & we felt very safe. They also have cameras in the hallways. Very central to everything. Highly recommended!!!

The staff at the hotel are so kind and attentive, truly a wonderful experience! I had to change my travel dates multiple times and the staff was incredibly accommodating, as well as helping with taxis and luggage storage. The breakfast is excellent and the rooms were very spacious and clean. I would stay at Hotel Cardoso again in a heartbeat!

It was easy to get around Maputo.

It was easy to get around Maputo. Highlights, Ktembe Bridge,Port, Fish Market, you can buy and get them prepare your seafood just outside. We enjoyed that.Many little restuarants outside the market, Museum, Cathedral, Baira Mall. Beach accross the mall street Train station.

Something different Town fairly run-down but central area fairly up market Quite safe and friendly people Park car at your accommodation do not use if possible Taxis and tuk tuks provide easy relatively cheap transport everywhere just ensure you have sufficient small notes / change Difficult to find supermarket supplies bring basics with you Beach quite dirty and water smelt of sewerage Restaurant food quite expensive, ended up eating whole chicken at PeriPeri. Even fruit was expensive Not many attractions and some were not well looked after Next time will take ferry to Inhaca for beach time

The city is fairly clean, especially in the area where I stayed. I did not have the opportunity to visit other parts of the city. Unfortunately, my Portuguese language is very poor so I had challenges communicating with citizens. I spent my evenings indoors becasue of thaty

Liked the beach and food.

Liked the beach and food. Don't like the fact that there is no English in that country. Communication is extremely difficult... It's close to impossible and mostly locals take advantage to mistreat of rob by over hanging prices.

There was unrest so not great to move around at night (or day in some parts). Where I was staying it felt very safe and the area is nice. Further out towards the airport it is not great... But there is a lovely energy to the place and looking forward to my next trip back.

Wonderful city...especially the sea-side though hot and...

Wonderful city...especially the sea-side though hot and humid temperatures can be uncomfortable. Love cycling early morning on Saturdays to Marracuene and back with less traffic congestion.Brisk walking along beach.Superb restuarant at Costa da Sol.

We made a last-minute booking after our initial booking for a different type of accommodation fell through on the last hour and Hotel Kapital was quick to assist us and make sure our request was met. Upon arrival we immediately decided to stay because of the hospitality and state of the property. We also decided to book at the hotel for our second trip back to Maputo. It was so nice to find such a tranquille place in the busy city that is Maputo. Coming back to the hotel after a long day or night of exploring the city was the best part...

To start with, I think this is the best you will get in Maputo. We had dinner at Polana Serena one evening and we were very happy that we decided to stay at Southern Sun, based on the food quality. Otherwise, the hotel is beautiful with a great view (especially if you have a room on the 4th floor) and he food was good (especially the breakfast). It was an overall pleasant experience.
