Delft is a picturesque Dutch city with canals and historic buildings, situated between Rotterdam and The Hague. Birthplace of the famous Dutch painter Johannes Vermeer, this destination is also home to the iconic Delft blue porcelain and the University of Technology.
Like a phoenix from the ashes, the 17th century Town Hall of Delft was destroyed on 1618 and rebuilt by the architect Hendrick de Keyser. Located across from the City Hall in the centre of the Market square, the Protestant church of Nieuwe Kerk (New Church) with the imposing tower is connected with the Dutch Royal Family.
Resting place for Piet Hein, Maarten Tromp and Johannes Vermeer, the Oude Kerk (Old Church) was built in 1240 and is one of the main landmarks of the city along with the Prinsenhof. Booking.com offers a variety of apartments and hotels in the centre of Delft.

We only and two nights and one day in Delft (between Brussels and the flight home). There were more things to do in the area if we would have had time. We could have explored nearby cities since they are easily accessible by train. We could have explored Kinder Dyk from there as well. Lovely old town with many canals and small local shops. Peaceful. Has not yet been invaded by international brands. We enjoyed walking around, looking at old buildings, visiting the "new" church, climbing its tower, and buying antique Delft tiles. Delft is a great historic city in the Netherlands that you simply have to visit. The size of the city center is walkable, pittoresque with canals with various places to dine at various budgets. Visit the antique market going on in summertime on saturdays. The prinsenhof, the old or the new church and the places that Vermeer saw while he was painting. Apartment is on the top floor of the same named restaurant. To access the apartment you have to go through restaurant. It gives another experience. This gives a typical Dutch house experience, access to rooms from the main is via stairs. We had full facilities and it was more than enough for 3 of us. Comfortable and clean room. The location is particularly convenient if you are by car and need to drive to different places in the Netherlands. Parking is free.
