I recently had the pleasure of spending several nights at U Parkhotel Twente and was absolutely delighted. The hotel is situated in a beautiful environment, very close to the university, which is ideal for academic visitors or anyone who wants to enjoy a peaceful atmosphere. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by an exceptionally warm and hospitable atmosphere. The staff was very kind, helpful, and always ready to assist throughout my stay. I truly felt welcomed. My room was spacious, tastefully decorated, and very comfortable. I appreciated the cleanliness and the room's amenities, which provided everything I needed for a pleasant stay. The breakfast was simply excellent! The wide selection of fresh and delicious food satisfied all my tastes. Starting the day with such a breakfast was always a treat. We enjoyed it too much. Overall, I rate U Parkhotel Twente as an exceptional hotel with outstanding hospitality, a beautiful setting, and first-class services. If you are looking for great accommodation near the University of Twente, I highly recommend this hotel.

My recent stay at Van der Valk Hotel Enschede was fantastic. The room was spacious and sparkling clean, providing a comfortable retreat. The rooftop pool, sauna, and steam bath were wonderful additions, offering relaxation with stunning views. The breakfast selection was varied and delicious, catering to all tastes. The most beautiful thing is perhaps the structure itself, a very cosy house in a quiet (and nice) residential zone near the center. The room had everything we needed and a big bathroom. The little backyard and the Common were pleasant additions. Last but not least, the host was extremly helpfull and gave us any information needed.

    The city center "Oude Markt" is cosy with many bars and restaurants with food from almost all over the world. We found a Dutch restaurant that we highly recommend. "De Ouwe Compagnie" at Waalstraat 39 and a French-inspired one called "Bardot" at Langestraat 47c.

    Enschede is a pleasant medium-sized city - you'll get to know the centre within a day. There's a pedestrian area, Saturday markets and plenty of places to go for a beer or a bite to eat. We also had a pleasant cultural experience as the town's 700 year celebrations are taking place in 2025.

    Perfectly sized town to visit, many shops, cafés and restaurants, as well as museums. Unfortunately I could only visit Enschede for a day, I would have liked to check out the town a bit more closely with more time. Very clean and lively.

    Enschede isn't the tourist hotspot of other places in Holland but the old town is beautiful with lots of places to eat and drink. The new town blends nicely and is immaculately clean. Driving is easy plus the train network is great and easy to use. Germany and its delights are only five minutes away but best of all, the locals are lovely. Hire a bike and get around in this rider friendly town much easier. The Rijksmuseum, though not a patch on the one in Amsterdam is worth a visit though a bit pricey. Lovely place to visit but don't expect too much as its quite a small town.

    I did not eat at the place.

    I did not eat at the place. I ate in town - bought take-aways when I needed to. It helps to ask others for directions - it helps as the places are not easy to find generally. I would avoid booking into places that are not confirmed as hotels or doing background checks on the place advertised. Hostel Enschede is false advertising unfortunately

    The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. We arrived in the early evening and enjoyed dinner at the hotel, which was very good value (30 euros for 3 course meal) and very convenient as we did not have to go out. The hotel is situated 15 minutes outside of Enschede, so having a car is important. It is in the middle of beautiful countryside with lots to explore on foot. The swimming pool was a huge plus and very calm.

    Location is walking distance from the old town, restaurants, museums and train station. The idea of converting an old industrial building into a hotel is creative. The design of the building - as far as visible - is contemporary and esthetically pleasant. The phone to call for assistance worked quickly.
