It's a wonderful house!

It's a wonderful house! Beautiful, peaceful, and lovingly decorated, and very comfortable. There's plenty of privacy and a warm, caring hostess. Beautiful, expansive countryside, charming little villages with very old churches to explore. It's close to the Wadden Sea dike, where you can enjoy a breath of fresh air. We had a delicious meal at Grand Café Hoek in Baflo; highly recommended.

Very friendly and helpful staff and residents.

Very friendly and helpful staff and residents. It's a tiny village with no other amenities than a hotel, restaurant, and sauna. It also has a museum. The seal sanctuary will relocate to Lauwersoog in 2025. It's the starting point for the Pieterpad and mudflat hikes.

Pieterburen is a tranquil village.

Pieterburen is a tranquil village. Highlights include the church, the parish garden, the information center, and the seal sanctuary. Unfortunately, there is no direct access to the dike and thus to the Wadden Sea. A positive aspect is the hourly bus service both east and west.

The price-quality ratio is good.

The price-quality ratio is good. Rooms are basic and show signs of wear. Everything was clean, though. Breakfast was across the street in the restaurant, which is in an old building, making it rather cluttered. Dinner was very good and affordable. For a weekend getaway... Perfect.

It was special to spend some time in Pieterburen.

It was special to spend some time in Pieterburen. Because of the storm and the cold, we didn't spend much time outside. We also forgot how challenging the walk was to see the sea, so we didn't get around to it. Tourism will probably change here when the seals leave, but it's still a beautiful place to return to.

Pieterburen is a lovely village with very friendly and helpful people, but unfortunately, its appeal is significantly diminished by the monopoly on restaurants, cafés, and mudflat hiking, Waddengenot. The owner is rude, and I wouldn't recommend the restaurant to anyone. You're simply being ripped off. It's a real shame.

The location was super and the host very sweet and thoughtful. We were going out for diner around 20:15, but there is only one restaurant and the kitchen already closes at 20:00-20:30. We should have done our research with this:). Anyhow the host helped us out with some starter snacks, beer and some great pizza's. In the end we were very happy that she helped us out this way. The room was very comfortable and clean. We would definitely book Waddenhoes again when we should visit Pieterburen again.

An interesting hotel that needs a little facelift but is really good value. The reception and carpark are not right beside the rooms. The bedroom was large and spacious with comfortable beds. A bit basic but fine for one night. The bathroom shower in my room could have done with a screen as the floor beside gets very wet. The restaurant across the road (theirs) serves good food and has ample seating. Breakfast that was served there was adequate.

I stayed here before starting the pieter pad and I was very positively impressed! Polite staff, clean and comfortable room, very quiet and peaceful location, excellent breakfast. I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely return.
