We loved the beauty of the city.
We loved the beauty of the city. Tourist information staff were very friendly and helpful with information for sightseeing. War museum is excellently presented. Gondola ride to the top of Narvikfjellet is a must to see the beautiful sights from above Buses were easy to use and the plenty of shopping centres. In my opinion not worth a visit.
In my opinion not worth a visit. You might have some angle if you're into skiing or if you are a history buff at the war museum, but that's about it. Don't even think about some shopping experience. But a very good starting point for a ride with the night train over the mountains to Stockholm! Narvick is a bit of a hidden jem.
Narvick is a bit of a hidden jem. We were travelling to Abisko in Sweden to view the Northern lights and a friend of mine had travelled the Loften Islands and thought they where one of the most spectacular places on earth and for a New Zealander that's a statement. So we travelled from Abisko to Narvick to spend three days there and we were not disappointed. It's a great base for a fantastic area of Norway.Guest review byClintUnited Kingdom - 8.0
The bus ride from Tromso to Narvik had amazing scenery.
The bus ride from Tromso to Narvik had amazing scenery. We visited the Narvik war museum which was very large and extremely well curated. It covered the major world wars up to the current conflict in Gaza. We had hoped to catch the Arctic Train to Sweden but part of the trip involved a replacement bus due to a derailment so we missed the most scenic parts of the train trip.Guest review byLyT2795Australia - 8.0
There is no bus going to Basecamp Narvik.
There is no bus going to Basecamp Narvik. The only options currently are car, taxi, walking uphill (approx. 30 minutes from downtown) or take a bus to the closest bus stop from which you have to walk some 10 minutes anyway. With the skilift you can go up to a restaurant and sightseeing platforms with fantastic views. I think Narvik is mainly a destination for nature lovers and nature related activities (hiking in summer and skiing in winter).Guest review byEvaLatvia

Staff were friendly and polite and helpful. Room and bathroom were spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good and included in the room price. Free access to coffee/tea during the day. Possibility to have a single-dish fixed menu dinner, paying for this. Well placed for access to the skying area and gondola. Plenty of car park if required. Relaxing place with "homy" feeling. Brought my memories to British B&B, family run style of accommodation. Smooth checking, room nicely decorated (rather in traditional style), comfortable bed, all clean, spacious. Good to mention have been upgraded to a bigger room.
