A small village where you can find all the essentials.
A small village where you can find all the essentials. For us, it was the perfect stop for a night between Oslo and Stavenger (the road in summer 😉) before continuing on to Lysefjord. Lovely view of the mountains overlooking the river. It's a shame it wasn't warmer to enjoy swimming and climbing.

Rysstad is located in a beautiful province. We only spent one day there without traveling; we would have liked to stay longer to explore the mountains further north. A good reason to go back. The restaurant was also good and cozy.

I felt very comfortable in this hotel.
I felt very comfortable in this hotel. The rooms were just a short walk from the restaurant. The breakfast buffet is also highly recommended. I will gladly book this hotel again on my next trip to Norway.

I chose this hotel to break up the journey down to Kristiansand and it did not disappoint.
The room was large with a balcony, very clean and comfortable, restaurant was good and breakfast had a great choice.
The site it broken into separate areas with hotel, cabins and camping. Play area great for kids, canoe hire for the adventurous and beautiful views.
Staff were very customer focused, polite and helpful.
One of the best hotels on our road trip.

The hotel is close Rv9 but still very quiet.
It was nice to have a balcony and the staff in the hotel and especially at the restaurant was very friendly and welcoming.
The food at the restaurant was delicious.
It was a good place to stay for one night during our journey through Setesdalen.

We got a room in the motel, but the hotel may have been fine - we prefer a double bed.
We had an excellent breakfast and also enjoyed a wonderful dinner in the restaurant for a reasonable price.
This room had an electric kettle - not all places do.
