I had a wonderful stay at Divine Kathmandu Hotel, located conveniently in the heart of the city. The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming, making the check-in process smooth and stress-free. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with modern amenities, including a cozy bed and a well-maintained bathroom. One of the highlights was the hotel’s breakfast buffet, offering a wide variety of fresh, delicious options. The ambiance of the hotel was warm and inviting, perfect for a relaxing retreat. Oasis Hotel is at the Kantipath entrance to Thamel, next door to the Garden of Dreams, two minutes walk from Himalayan Java coffee house and Fire & Ice pizzeria, and just metres from the new Chhaya Centre. There are also lovely restaurants, spas and minimart next door. Rooms are spacious, with good natural light and ours included a fridge which was a bonus. The bathroom shower was hot with strong pressure. The hotel has its own small Cafe and offers indoor and outdoor dining, although we only ate breakfast there. The complimentary breakfast buffet was reasonable. What really puts Oasis above other mid-range hotels is its customer service. The staff, especially the manager, are very invested in making sure you are happy and having the best experience possible! Nothing was too much of a problem, and our requests were attended to very promptly. Their complimentary pickup service from the airport was an added bonus.

    On the first day of Kathmandu in the city bus I was stolen...

    On the first day of Kathmandu in the city bus I was stolen money from my poshest. Until that time I had thought that Nepali were honest and diligent. So that I didn’t pay attention to things like having my money stolen on the bus. On the last day the airport was closed because of the strike, so I had to reschedule my ticket and stay in hotel one night more The city is so dusty and lots of rubbish. However, I like the old cultural constructions and festivals.

    You have to say No!

    You have to say No! Everyone wants you to buy from them but they are used to being rejected. There are some people wanting to talk to you, often wanting to show you their workplaces etc so they can lure you in to buy their wares. Conversations always start with Hello sir/madam. Which country are you from? However, lovely people and a lo ely place, full of history and religious beliefs.

    Treekers home provides an excellent accommodation facilities in low cost. Especially, staffs were very helpful and the location of the hotel was also nice. Note: There is a big room to improve the light and bathroom facilities. But it is perfect for those who find low cost hotel in Thamel.

    Mostly stayed in Thamel tourist area and ate at many local spots: House of MoMo, Third Eye, Yok Bar were all great! But careful as some of the menu descriptions can be a little misleading. Ex: I received a 'chicken skewer' meal that was NOTHING like described. It was even missing the skewers. But the staff was extremely helpful and eager to please. The traffic/driving is crazy! Mopeds/motorbikes are high percentage of use, with automobiles being less visible in the high tourist areas. It is REALLY dusty everywhere. Wear a mask or buff if you have allergy/breathing issues. Always carry your own TP if you're not used to using squatty potty's and bidets!

    Thamel is a good location for tourist, shopping and food will totally depend on your choices. Friendly area and lost of money changes and ATM. It's a good place if you like working. Pls ensure that you have a mask as it is a little dusty.

    Probably the best place we stayed during our whole time in Nepal. - very clean room, bedding looked obviously fresh and clean, bathroom was also clean - good facilities provided such as AC which also worked as a heater, plugs right by the bed, TV, really good wifi - location of hotel is right in the mix of thamel - staff were friendly and really nice people - hot water was available 24/7 this was a personal highlight after struggling with mostly cold showers throughout Nepal to be able to get hot water at all times was just brilliant

    Situated in the thamel area my garden house is amongst the best hotels I had experienced with beautiful garden ,clean and neat rooms hotel staffs are very helpful and most amazing thing is food which was best .and main thing is the transportation which you can find very easily just one minute to reach tourist bus station .
