This place ist just wonderfull. Helen is an amazing host with loads of stories and a great chef on top. Also you can get some great hiking tips ! The view in this house, together with Helen’s company for the evening was tue cherry on top of our New Zealand vacation. We will be back !

The room was very big, I felt very good in the house, it looked like home, with beautiful view, calm, peaceful, very clean, perfect instructions to check-in and out, WiFi worked perfectly, easy to park, ability to cook and the cutlery were provided, a towel was available too, a shop very close to the place and a little kind bar very close too, to eat a little thing and even drinking a hot chocolate, well - ALL PERFECT - Thank you!!

Although we did not need 4 bedrooms, as my husband snores, having the use of 2 bedrooms was fabulous for respite on our 3 week South Island trip. The many heaters meant we did not have to use the coal/ wood fire which we used with ease on the first night but I was concerned about creating particulate pollution so we resorted to the excellent oil column heaters which heated up the place well. It is quiet despite being near the railway tracks and the washing was useful for our post tramping laundry which was easily dried on the line so although there is no dryer, none was needed. I appreciated the excellent communication from the proprietors. Their clear instructions made the trip seamless and stressfree.
