we had a locked cabin for ourselves. it smells fresh, and it is small, but has everything we needed. bathroom is equipped with heater and hot water. Small open kitchen is good enough for making a simple steak and salmon dinner.

On our tour of the South Island of New Zealand , we needed a place to stay overnight, south of Queenstown. We stayed overnight, but had we known what wonderful cottage Sheena and Duncan had created, we would certainly have stayed longer. They immediately made us feel at home and the cottage has all the amenities you can imagine and on top of that is as sustainable as it gets. An inspiring example of the use water from rainfall and renewable energy to operate a self sustaining home. The view from the cottage is phenomenal and ‘a sky full of stars’ has a new meaning for us now.
