The accommodation was stunning—an enormous, beautifully decorated, stylish apartment with everything spotlessly clean. The hosts were exceptionally friendly and helpful. We were extremely satisfied with our stay and were genuinely saddened that we couldn’t stay longer. If we visit New Zealand again, we will definitely return and stay here. Once again, we thank the hosts for everything they did for us. We highly recommend this accommodation to everyone.

Great location, just across the road from the waterfront and a short walk to the shops and restaurants. You get the entire apartment, one of six in a small block, which has plenty of room (unless you plan on cooking for a large group, the kitchen is on the small side). Very comfortable large bed. Ideally located for a trip to Cape Reinga, which I did comfortably in a day by motorbike, as it's only 20 KM from SH1. Met the owners who were very welcoming. Would highly recommend.

Warm welcome - great start to our weekend in this beautiful Lodge. Room with a view of the beach, big spacious room with outdoor balcony with seating. Heated pool, sadly we ran out of time to use. Close to shops restaurants and beautiful beaches. Within walking distance to the Mangonui shops.

A cute lil fishing village with a lot of vibe.

A cute lil fishing village with a lot of vibe. Newly built walkways around the coast, lots of wonderful restaurants - with takeaway options. The 4-square is very well supplied and people are friendly and relaxed. The ocean waves lap in here, nice wee spot with excellent scenery with a friendly relaxed atmosphere. Lovely accommodation at really reasonable prices.

A nice little place to stop over for a few days, especially summertime. A good place to start exploring the Northern part of the country. Some good food and coffee places to visit, shopping etc. A likeable sea/beach place to spend some time relaxing.

Mangonui is a pleasant small place with a beautiful waterfront. Considering its size it has a good range of eating places as well as a supermarket. The heritage trail is interesting and also a good walk, although there are some steep sections once you leave the waterside. There are good views all around. At low tide there is an interesting range of bird life on the exposed mud. There is obviously good fishing. This a good place to tke a trip up to Cape Reinga and the nearby KariKari peninsula has a winery and good beaches.

Lovely historic wooden hotel in a stunning location. with a magnificent view of the sea. I had a single room, although small, it was adequate, good quality sheets and towels, and a comfortable bed. Small kitchen area to prepare food and enjoyed breakfast from the veranda. Friendly staff. It may be old fashioned, but it's a great place to stay with a good atmosphere.
