My husband was born there and we have visited before during Art Deco week . Didn’t stay at the masonic then but ate there . That was fabulous . Stayed this time at the masonic. Disappointed by the empty shops nearby . Prehaps like any coastal town , a bit disappointing in the winter. The art deco centre across the road had moved. The food, shopping and beautiful Art Deco buildings were a highlight of Napier. We visited the Cabana, Napiers olders (maybe NZ's olders) live music venues and saw a great band. The beach was typical of Hawke's Bay with black pebbles. In the morning we visited the lookout over the harbour and across the bay.Guest review byGreyroseAustralia
