New ZealandOur hostess was lovely and there to greet us on arrival. The location is quiet, and the comfy beds resulted in a good night's sleep for all.
The kitchen was well equipped so we could cater easily for ourselves.
As a bonus, the artwork from the hostess is very pleasing to the eye.
It's an older property that has been redecorated with care, so overall, it is a pleasant place to stop a while.

Opononi and Omapere are two small seaside towns within a 5km stretch of the west coast of Northland, near the mouth of the Hokianga harbour. The scenery is stunning, but the accommodation and eating options are fairly limited.

I've used this accomodation many times.
I've used this accomodation many times. It's easy to book and is at a reasonable price. I know you need to book early or in advance IN THE HOLIDAYS and when events are on. I booked online from the opononi Pub once. I was lucky to get a room that was available at the time. That's why booking on line is just as good as ringing up. Ownership is changing in July I hope the new owners can maintain the previous owners standards. Always willing to support the accommodation.

We drove to the carpark & walked out to the Point.
We drove to the carpark & walked out to the Point. Lovely views. Spectacular Sand dunes. It was a stop over of 2 days so we could go & play GOLF. RAWENE. Easy to get around Opononi. We had 1 dinner at night at Sands Hotel. Very nice . Awesome staff. Went & had a meal & drink at Opononi Hotel. Staff lovely & helpful.

Rugged, natural, quiet & uncluttered beauty on the west coast.
You don’t go to Opononi/Omapere to shop, its the place to go when you want to find peace, harmony & spirituality.
If you want to get away to relax… this is the place to go!

Great spot, great views of the harbour where ever you stay.
Great spot, great views of the harbour where ever you stay. Nice restaurants, cafes and bars. Has a great little Four Square for shopping. Nearby is a great drive through the Waipoua Forest, visit the great Kauri tree Tane Mahuta - Tane Mahuta is the guardian of the forest and birds.

Wow this place was a little gem. We stayed here for the night as we wanted to do some walks in the Waipoua Forest to see the big Kauri trees. It had everything we needed for an overnight stay. Bed and pillows really comfy. View to die for and great deck for afternoon drinkies. Not too many places to eat to Opononi so we got some really nice take away from the Thai restaurant and bought it back to the deck overlooking the water with a bottle of wine - what more could you ask for.

The Sands was having construction work carried out during our stay, we knew there was a limited menu for dinner and no breakfast available. This was due to their communication before our stay. We appreciated this and enjoyed our dinner and they made it special with a birthday candle on our dessert. Made us feel special.

The unit was warm and the shower was lovely good water flow and never went cold. The unit was clean and the bed was so comfortable. Enjoyed our stay and would book again if we went back to Opononi.

The location and view is second to none. Easy place to holiday in for two couples. Comfortable spaces and well stocked kitchen appliances.
