Picton is a lovely place to spend a few days.. or explore further. Irish pub up the road was good for a drink. Mostly did our own cooking but nice cafes around the corner for lunch. Handy bus stop across the road. Went to Blenheim for a day ( check the timetable.. doesn’t go every day) Walked to Waikawa Bay and back. Edwin Fox museum worth going to as was the Mail Run cruise. We stayed for 3 nights… arriving from Wellington by ferry… and leaving by bus for Christchurch.Guest review byDianeNew Zealand - 10.0

Lots to do and see. Recommend the Edwin Fox museum. Wine tours close by. Ferry port so always busy, Great selection of shops and eateries. Make sure you stop and relax for a while and perhaps walk the hills and surrounds. Pity the gondola never happened for Picton. Would have been an asset for the town. Picton has so much more to offer other than being a ferry...
Picton has so much more to offer other than being a ferry terminal. A wide choice of restaurants & cafes, plenty of shopping opportunities, lovely harbourside walks. There are also a wide choice of boat trips to experience the Marlborough Sound.Guest review byTimUnited Kingdom

They upgraded me because my ferry bookings were changed due to grounding. I travel thru out the country and have stayed at top dollar motels, but motels are only as good as the people. Highly recommended in Picton. Top accommodation, it has all you needs and comfort of a home. Down to glad wrap in the Kitchen.
