Such a lovely location! We arrived quite late, but was still greeted by the host who gave us a very warm welcome. The building was very charming, and the smell of fresh wood was still present in the lodge, despite it being 30 years or so old. Would have loved to have stayed longer.

We could see the cows in the paddock when we arrived and even from the lounge area and some of the bedroom windows. The area is also quaint and quiet with great sunset views. The place has everything you need for a short stay and a short drive from Hobbiton and the Blue Springs.

Jen was an absolutely amazing host. We greatly enjoyed sharing our stories and chatting over a pot of tea. She and her husband have some wonderful stories to tell, and are very eager to hear about yours as well! The house with no nails itself is incredibly beautiful and the craftsmanship is unmatched. Breakfast was wonderful, and we loved spending some time with the other travelers staying in the house. I would highly recommend staying here, especially if you are going to the Hobbiton experience as the house’s style fits beautifully with the Hobbit look! Overall we will not forget our time here as it was one of the best stays in New Zealand!

We had a fabulous stay. The pod, as my husband said, had everything we needed, and nothing we didn't. We were warmly welcomed and felt very comfortable in the accommodation and in the garden area. The bird song in the morning was incredible to wake up to. It was all spotlessly clean and tidy with lovely touches, and as described on booking.com It was also a good base for visiting Hobbiton and the surrounding area. We would thoroughly recommend
