We're very nicely welcomed by the Staff and we immediately got a bedroom, much before check-in time. We also received an upgrade, as we've been given a bigger room. The receptionist was a very pleasant and professional person and the other members of staff were very kind too. A nice place to stay for a couple of nights, before embarking or disembarking a Cruise ship, as it is not very far away from the port.

Heiata was a really really lovely host. Nothing was too much trouble, she always responded really quickly and gave us recommendations for our time in Tahiti. She even left us some Easter eggs in the fridge as it was Easter weekend! The flat is really lovely, beautifully decorated with air con in the bedroom. The little balcony is great to sit outside in a morning or evening around activities and enjoy the great view. The bathroom had really lovely shampoo, conditioner, etc, the kitchen had coffee and hot chocolate etc which made everything feel a little more like home. There is all the equipment to cook yourself in the apartment too. The centre of tahiti is just a 20min walk. We hired a car and there is secure parking in the apartment grounds. We would absolutely stay here again!! We wish we could have stayed here longer!

Great apartment, great location, was a blessing to have the carrefour supermarket so close by. We really enjoyed our stay here, loved swimming in the pool and the great views from the kitchen and balcony. Would definitely stay again. Host was lovely too, checking to see if we were ok.

Perfect appartment!👍, all facilities you need for cooking and to feel really comfortable and relaxing are provided by your host. Amazing!! Very clean. About 90% of excursions were water related activities and if that’s not your passion it’ll take a bit of effort to find nature, culture options. What I didn’t like as a solo traveler is that Viator tours were mainly required a couple/2 person minimim booking. Thankfully booking.com excursions was a life saver. Most restaurants are closed between 2-5 pm so keep that in mind. I’m not a foodie so I didn’t explore the fine dining options. Papeete lacks a robust night life, it’s more a “get away from real life” and relax that caters to water sports types. I realized I’m a “city girl” type so after 3 days of chilling I was restless.

Papeete is a dump! We expected more from the French. Very 3rd world, unsafe water, no sidewalks, trash and graffiti abounds, bums begging, dirty drainage canals, and for this you are charged extremely high prices for everything! Bora bora wasn't much better... Moorea was nice. We took a cruise to the Marquesas and Tuamotus which were still unspoiled and gorgeous with genuine natives. The islands are stunning, but just go to Hawaii.

Papeete itself is very bland and the market is over-rated (in my opinion). I wished I had planned properly and spent few nights at Moorea, but I didn't know what to expect. Rookie mistake 🫣 Lessons learnt. Despite mixed advice from the locals, I felt safe walking at night, which is a positive outlook for the Island 🙏 As many reviewers have mentioned, Papeete is only a good stopover to the other islands 🏝 😀 The 2 highlights of my stay was the day trip to Moorea, doing the safari excursions and the cultural night at the InterContinental Hotel.

Over-all it was great.

Over-all it was great. We spent 7 days on Tahiti, plus a half-day excursion on Moorea. 5 days on Tahiti would probably be enough. Next time we will visit a couple of others islands for a few days. Good food and shopping in Papeete.

Spending a day or two there would have been enough, there was obvious poverty, with multiple homeless people. Not what I expected at all. I hired a car to visit the sites, but when I was driving around, everything looked closed, or uninviting. As a solo tourist, this wasn't the best place to visit. If I had known better, I would have book a night & visited the different islands.

The people are what make it so good.

The people are what make it so good. Very polite people who appear to be honest and kind. The shopping mall across the road from the Hilton was a wonderful place with a food hall and a good supermarket. We enjoyed a day trip to Moorea and a taxi trip around that island. Also the 5-hour Tahiti group trip and the boat trip. I did not do any snorkelling as I do not swim and I thought perhaps an activity in knee-high water could have been included in the boat trip. The Museum of the Islands was a good activity.

Beautiful hardworking couple running the place with daughter. They do their best to provide a place for travellers to stay and enjoy Taihiti. Loved that there was a fan in my room, and the shower/ bathroom was amazing, enjoyed the outdoor seating to eat . Nice and close to airport , I also could catch up on a lot of sleep , Ngā mihi nui mo to mahi .. x

The pool and the view from the roof top was amazing. The location from the airport and port was great. Carolos was very helpful. He picked us up from the port and then drove us to the airport. He gave us the keys and explained how they worked.
