It was the best stay in our Portugal holidays. Attention to details is just magical here. Perfect match of Portugal history and new age quality. It exceeded our expectations. Room was spacious with amazing views from the balkony. All hotel feel like home away from home with attentive staff and designed details all over the property. We loved breakfast and dinners there as well. Pools are just amazing. We were happy to dive in the relaxing few days at this villa.

The staff was extremely nice and helpful. They went an extra mile to make us happy. The helped book train tickets to Bon Jesus, offered us coffee before breakfast was available, kept our backpacks when we took side trip. Room was clean and comfortable. The hotel is very close to the old town and good restaurants. Perfect place to stay.

Breakfast was good, rather simple, though. Wifi worked great. Location is outstanding. A beautiful site! Staff, all family as far as I know, was polite and courteous at all times! Highly recommended if you want to stay outside urban centers.

    A Very nice small city, lots to see and many good dining and shopping opportunities. We were lucky to be there during a festival, which provided non-stop entertainment for our two -day stay. Our favorite place in Portugal so far. (We are not big city people, found Lisboa and Porto vexing - crowds, noise, traffic). Barcelos manages to be interesting and charming without the negatives. Of course, some day it will over-populate and be as obnoxious as the other big cities.

    Barcelos is one of many stunning towns and cities in Portugal, but by far my favorite. It is small enough to walk around, has some excellent old buildings, bridges, etc. Cafes, restaurants all provide excellent service, and the market on Thursdays is awesome to see.

    This town is a car crash! - despite Unesco city of creativity. 1-2 hours plenty to look around the last remaining intact bits of town, apart from visiting on a Thursday when supposedly there is a market going on. So many other places to see in the area! Why waste your time?

    We were there for Dance World Cup finals in Braga so didn't see a lot of Barcelos but surrounding areas very beautiful. Lots of stunning countryside covered in vineyards. Definitely would go back to explore more!

    The city is beautiful and with a lot of monuments and churches to visit. It also had some pretty interesting shops in a central shopping area and some interesting looking restaurants. From traditional to hipster food- you can find everything there. The day I visited, the city had a huge market in the center, street food and entertainment. There were some traditional music concerts, traditional dancing, flower and light decorations all over... Very pretty. I was positively surprised by the mixture of historical and city-like vibes.

    Stayed in the medieval suite, very clean and nice bathroom, kitchen ok for a hotel in the city, fridge, clean rooms, bed ok. Great breakfast, fresh orangejuice, pancakes, cereal, cake, coffee,... continious refill. Coffee in room. Nice view, parking nearby (street). Very friendly staff.

    Spacious, very comfortable, well equipped and in an excellent location. Sandra, as our host, really gave us a very warm welcome and went out of her way to make sure we enjoyed and made the most of our stay in Barcelos. Would definitely stay there again and recommend it to our friends.

    Friendly staff. Coffee machine, microwave, fridge and toasting machine all available to use. Plenty of parking locally. Lots of restaurants and pastry shops near and in town. Barcelos great town especially for Thursday market. Would stay again.

    These appartments are separate to a hotel close by. Check in is with that hotel. Room was very clean, lovely big bathroom with a bath - great to soak sore Camino legs and feet!
