We had an awesome stay in a very cosy place. The owner thought everything through and every detail matches. The breakfast is done for you by super kind staff who always give you a good feeling whenever they are around. You immediately feel at home at Hortas do Rio and Filipe. This is a real jewel - it's safe, it's clean, it's beautiful! Thank you for the great time, happy to visit again!

    We spent the day driving down from Lisbon and so didn't spend any time in the town of Carrapateira itself. But the next morning, we really enjoyed the various hiking trails and scenic overview spots accessible from Carrapateira via the perimeter road (E. da Praia), which starts with great views of and trails to Praia da Bordeira and then winds along the coast's edge for about 10 km. Great views and trails.

    Nice little town, small grocery store that had better than expected selection and good prices. Municipal market that’s open every day. One vender who sells his local produce. Everything else can be bought in Vila do Bispo. Walking distance to the fantastic coast.

    Bordeira is one of the top beach in the world. We are coming to this region since 40 years and we have never enough . Sitio do forno is a simply spectacular position. Excellent basic Portuguese food

    It is a small village in the end of continent, we just love...

    It is a small village in the end of continent, we just love that this IS NOT hot touristic spot. Yes, you'll find find restaurants in and around, wide beach with small bar on it. But in the nigth there is only sound of wind and ocean, and that what we need on holidays!

    Lovely area and locals are nice and helpful. Easy to get around and there are some reasonable basic services available such as guesthouses, restaurants. I didn’t see a gas station, ATM or grocery market so plan to stop elsewhere for those.

    Very cute small village in the middle of paradise.

    Very cute small village in the middle of paradise. Super spot for hikers and nature lovers. There is a minimarket and some restaurants open even in out of season times. When I am back to Algarve, I am definitely coming to Carrapateira again.

    The room was cozy and very clean and comfortable to rest well after a day of exploring the Algarve region. The house has a shared kitchen, living room and patio with a grill too, everything was very cleaned. Carrapateira is a fantastic town full of surf culture and good food. The guy who showed us the room was super friendly and willing to help us too. Totally recommend.

    This is NOT a commercial hotel, but a home...in every sense of the word. We were welcomed in, all our needs (charging electric bikes etc) were met with great love and care, and a great deal of hospitality...nothing was too difficult, even with language barriers...while not intruding in any way on our time. Coffee and breakfast facilities were great.
