Excellent hotel, well-run and beautiful. Even when the hotel was full, the breakfast was served smoothly. The spa is small but cosy, when there are not many people. The first two nights the hotel had little occupancy, the third when we stayed, it was full.

This was a really nice, comfortable place to stay in Ericeira. I was there for 5 or 6 days. I don't know how it compares for price against other lodgings in the centro historico, but probably pretty favorably or I wouldn't have booked a stay here in the first place (I generally stay in more economical or mid-range places). Casa dos Cucos is sort of a hybrid hostel-hotel: my private room was amply sized, two big windows, two twin beds; bathrooms are shared but there are enough, so no traffic jams; a couple of large common areas with big tables; a large and excellently appointed shared kitchen, with a dishwasher, no less. The place, in an old building just off Old Town's main square, Praça da Republica, was beautifully renovated and simply and tastefully furnished, and even includes a small patio outside the kitchen door. And as can happen at the more fun hostels I've stayed at over the years, I met and had some great conversations with a few of the other guests, interesting people from all sorts of different places. This is less apt to happen if you're in and out in just a night or two, of course. The hostel even puts bathrobes in the rooms, for getting to and from the bathrooms. A very nice touch, and I got a good laugh from it. I am quite a large man, almost 2 meters and 115 kg. The bathrobe barely reached to the critical areas and wouldn't close around my waist. Not even close. It might have fit my 9-year-old granddaughter. Maybe. Not a problem, for sure a good laugh. To characterize a bit further: As I was hiking down the steep hill from the bus station to Casa dos Cucos in the rain, I contacted Miguel to let him know I was about 20 minutes from checking in, as he had asked me to do. Unbidden, he called me back, figured out where I was, told me to stay put for a couple of minutes, and came to pick me up in his car! How cool was that for him to do?

We spent 2 wonderful weeks with our family in the Terra Lodge. We had a spacious family room with an adjoining shared kitchen. The large garden with pool and relaxation areas was perfect for us. The surrounding area with its great beaches and restaurants made the whole thing simply unforgettable. Many thanks also to Natasha, who looked after us so well. We would love to come back.

    I have an Autistic/epileptic adult son. Ericeira was a great place to keep as a base and travel out on day trips. It is a surfer's paradise. The town itself has tons of restaurants and stores to explore. We rented a car and explored other beaches nearby. The town is easy to walk around. There are some hills but most can manage them. The people are lovely. We went in early September so the crowds were less. Never had to wait for a table to eat. Perfect distance from Lisbon and easy to get Ubers to and from there is you choose to.

    The proximity to the was good.

    The proximity to the was good. The apartment was clean but had unsafe factors - electric iron with wires exposed , and potential risk of electrocution of the user. Cracked crockery also presented a potential health risk.

    Very sweet town, loved walking the passeo along the water...

    Very sweet town, loved walking the passeo along the water and watching the kids and surfers enjoying the waves among the various beaches. We walked everywhere and left the rental car in the garage for the full two days. Very friendly and welcoming! I would recommend a two night minimum - we could have stayed for a weeklong beach vacation but wanted to fit in more of Portugal within our vacation week.

    Very beautiful beaches and waves. The town itself is full of surfers so it is noisy. However, if you want a quieter place, you should stay further from the center and you can enjoy the peace and wonderful views.

    Ericeira, located along the western coast of Portugal, has the charm of a fishing village and the appeal of an international destination. It is within a 30-40 minute drive of Lisbon. It has become known as an excellent location for surfing and draws many international surfers and travelers from Europe, the UK, US, and Canada. And the restaurants and cafes offer an excellent assortment of cuisines, including organic. Ericeira maintains a clean, healthy environment and many people focused on a holistic lifestyle are attracted to the location. There are many walking and biking paths along and over the ocean front that are well maintained. I have been visiting Ericeira over the past 3 years and highly recommend it whether for a short or longterm visit.

    It's a beautiful spot and the apartment we stayed in was spacious and airy, with use of two pools (indoor and outdoor) a small gym and a tennis court. The town itself is lovely with lots of great and inexpensive restaurants (recommend Calavera for a great Mexican meal). We had a great time

    The apartment is close to the beach (10min walking) and Ericeira is a good spot for visiting the rest of the center Portugal. We were welcomed very nicely by Claudio's mother that waited our arrival even we were late because of the flight delay. The apartment is cozy and well-equipped with everything you need.
