It's a small, quaint little town. Everyone is quite friendly. It's also well curated. A lot of the citizens are multilingual which is quite amazing. I only stayed 1 1/2 day and arrived on a Tuesday evening and I'd recommend for ppl that are staying very shortly to maybe arrive on a Wednesday since quite a few restaurants are closed Monday & TuesdayGuest review byV - 10.0

We arrived on the day of a festival to celebrate fire...
We arrived on the day of a festival to celebrate fire fighters, and we're presented with a free concert in a square in the town which was magical. The town is small enough to explore easily on foot. Everyone we met was very helpful and friendly. A small walkable city with enough sights to see for 2 days.
A small walkable city with enough sights to see for 2 days. It can be used as a base to visit Braga and Porto and other nearby towns. There are a few supermarkets around to shop for groceries to prepare your meals. We walked from the property to the Sanctuary of Penha, and back, which was up numerous very steep roads but the view from the top was rewarding and worth the torturous climb. It was a great workout. The walk from the train station to this property is about 30 minutes over a steep cobblestone pedestrian walkway which can be a challenge if one has a pull-along luggage bag. Clean, fresh, modern and stylish about sums it up. Breakfast was good, not outstanding, and the restaurant food (we arrived late from the Santander ferry and a 5-hour drive) was welcome and satisfying.
