The house had everything and the contact with Pedro and his mother Ana Luisa was warm and excellent. The location was also, for us, very good in the old fishermens part of Machico. Also close to the beach and the centre of town.

I was very happy with my stay at Casa Pão. We arrived after midnight and the owner Joana welcomed us in person. The apartment was spotless, spacious and filled with everything we needed. We were left with a complimentary bottle of wine and biscuits which was extremely thoughtful! The apartment was in a nice quiet location, but also a short walk to shops, restaurants and the beach. The bedrooms had fans which was perfect for when it got warm at night. Joana provided us with recommendations to eat and shop which was very helpful. We hired a car for a couple of days and were able to park outside the apartment in a private space. Highly recommend!

It was just perfecto! The warm welcome of the hostess, and the extra information en effort… wauw! I’ve stayed in a lot of places, but this was by far one of the best hospitality skills I’ve seen! The appartement had so much love in it, in the details most of all. Coffee, water, biscuits, spices, shampoos, bathrobes, they thought of EVERYTHING! Definitely recommend this place✨🙏

This is an amazing villa! Everything is brand new. Modern design. Very thought thru. It has everything you need and even more! Great front porch with lounge chairs. Great back porch with a small patio table and a grill! Grill, Karl! We didn't go to restaurants in the evening - we just purchased wine and different fish every day and ate at the property! Saved tons of money. Two balconies view over the ocean or sunset, you decide! Kitchen was great. Bedrooms were great. We had such an amazing time. Walking from the villa to the beach is short - like a few minutes. Everything was close. There is a outdoor shower and rinsing station - so, you can brush off that sand before entering the house. The host was amazing and very accommodating. We highly recommend this place - some of our friends are already planning to visit Madeira and stay here

    Machico resort is not for the night clubbing holiday maker, It was however for us a slow paced setting with a good selection of restaurants and supermarkets with walking routes for those who wish. The harbour offered boat trips, whale watching and surf lessons, the latter was enjoyed from the safety of a dry vantage point. Local bus into Funchal for 2-60 euro single was 50 mins away which opens up further opportunities for excursions and sight seeing like the red or yellow hop on hop off bus tours which operate from the promenade where the ticket is valid for 24 hours allowing to to spend time where the mood takes. Weather forecasting in resort will not take into account the drizzle from the mountains with can add a cooling break from the sunshine and occasional rain. Enjoy.

    A nice area to stay outside Funchal where I find it still preserves. We stayed in the best Modern Guesthouse, ate local foods in O’Gala and Massa Mia. They have two beaches. The rocky area and the sand area.

    Nice small village nearby 2 beaches with all the necessary shops (supermarkets) and several restaurants. Away from the buzzling city. 😄 But by car nearby some touristic hotspots like Santa Cruz, Funchal, Cristo Rei, Santana houses etc.

    Machico was good for food shopping, restaurants, and bars. We didn't use the beach, but saw lots of people swimming. The town is handy for some great walks on the east end of the island. We even managed a walk to Porta da Cruz and back from town.

    Machico has shops with souvenirs and snack bars and restaurants as well as a clean beach with golden sand and changing facilities. There is also a supermarket and bus station enabling travel to other destinations on the island. People are friendly and helpful. There are many places to simply sit and have a drink and a snack.

    Great village with range of facilities, as well as sandy beach (rare on island) together with pebble beach and harbour. Lots of places to eat or drink out, car parking (some free as well), supermarkets, shopping outlets, places of worship and walking that is safe.

    Everything for us was excellent! The place was great and the host was super nice, friendly and professional! A parking on the street was laid between 8-19, but it wasn’t a big deal because we were leaving earlier than 8, coming back later than 19, because Madeira has a lot to offer. A big kitchen with everything you need, very nice smell in the in the air, comfortable room and very interesting decoration. And the host was very friendly and professional. TOP class, highly recommend! 🔥

    It is a perfect place where to stay when visiting Madeira. Machico is a quiet town with a nice beach and also a good starting point to any adventures. The hosts were very kind and friendly. The accommodation is as described, spacious and clean. It makes you feel at home. We also rented a car and there was no problem parking the car in the street. The supermarket is within walking distance (about 5 min) I really recommend this place to stay!

    In the center of Machico, very nice place to stay. We parked the car at the gas station near by, just a short walk (uphill) but well, you‘re in Madeira. The kitchen had all the stuff you need and more (boxes to store and take food with you on a trip, our coffee got filled up…). Really nice and uncomplicated stay - we enjoyed it very much!
