This is a stunning house which has been really tastefully converted into a fantastic hotel. It’s comfortable, interesting, inviting and relaxing, all at once. The experience is very like staying in your own (very grand) country house, with beautiful grounds and a wealth of history to explore, complete with attentive staff (especially the wonderful Diogo, who looked after us fantastically), and a brilliant chef. The food was excellent and the wines (produced on the estate) were delicious. We recommend!

Excellent location. The rooms are of a high standard, and very comfortable and welcoming. Excellent staff who were very caring and wanted to make sure your stay was great. It is such a great place to get away from everything, and I highly recommend staying there.

The staff was unbelievably helpful, accommodating with our arrival time and with our requests. Uppon arrival, we were greeted by the staff who were very competent and professional in their communication with us. We took advantage of the Spa offer and I can honestly say that this SPA beats many SPAs at worldwide hotels. 100 % recommend the SPA add-on if you are visiting them.

Remo and Angelika were very kind and made us feel very welcome. The property is very beautiful, with a jacuzzi and pool, yard and awsome view - Angelika even shared a bit of the story of the property and what work they did with it. Their pets (dog and cats) are also very friendly. A note for the breakfast, which was both delicious and offered a vast variety of options.

What we love about this property is how peaceful it was. It had beautiful views. And we also got to meet beautiful people nearby too. We used to go for a walk. But this property have us everything that we where really looking for. We felt like Home.

We had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful Quinta, and we couldn’t be more impressed. The property is absolutely stunning and provided the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The atmosphere is peaceful and serene, making it an ideal spot for unwinding and enjoying nature. A special thank you to Dini, the host, who was incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay – she truly made us feel welcome. The private kitchen was a fantastic bonus, fully equipped with everything we needed, which made our stay so convenient and comfortable. We highly recommend this Quinta to anyone looking for a charming and relaxing getaway in the Portuguese countryside. We can’t wait to return!

Penalva do Castelo is a lovely town ,the people are nice and very helpful. Everyone we met made us feel welcomed . Very pretty town. Maybe a couple more restaurants needed. The surrounding area is very picturesque and good for walking. Lovely place!!!

Penalva is a beautiful village with several restaurants where you can enjoy delicious food. There are several supermarkets, shops, and terraces. There are beautiful hiking trails and the river nearby. Highly recommended!

Well, initially we had negative thoughts about the room.

Well, initially we had negative thoughts about the room. But the following morning they changed our room. And the service from all the ladies was so good that it makes us feel embarrassed to say anything negative. About 100 meters away there's a pastry shop where the service from the girls is phenomenal. I highly recommend having breakfast there.

A beautiful, well-maintained old country estate with Spanish...

A beautiful, well-maintained old country estate with Spanish roots, a lovely tour of the house, which offers wonderful and surprising rooms, antiques, and details in every corner – very stylish. A large garden right outside the door, a good restaurant – truly a wonderful place to stay that I highly recommend.

Penalva do Castelo is a small village worth visiting and...

Penalva do Castelo is a small village worth visiting and discovering. I spent Easter 2023 there and it was the best choice I could have made. I recommend a visit to the Penalva do Castelo Cooperative Winery and the following hiking trails: Castendo Trail, Rural Environments Route, and Mills Route. They are all incredible and different.

The hotel was beautiful and full of history! Beautiful gardens, an excellent terrace. The swimming pools are in a confortable green area surrounded by huge old trees. Each small detail brings history to you. The chapel is breathtaking!
