The Casa offered us 2 huge rooms with comfy beds, very nice showers and bathrooms including all the necessities. The room features a mini-fridge, microwave, and kettle plus a kitchen sink so one could prepare some food, but the common kitchen is also available to use with complimentary coffee and tea all day. The place is very quiet for sleeping with only four rooms total, plus it's on a side street with a large verandah between the hotel and the street. It's located just behind the actual Correios building a few steps from the main pedestrian center, with access to many places to eat and shop. One added pleasure was that the hotel has been decorated like a museum, with artifacts from old post offices and artistic touches in the same theme. The cordial owner was pleased to show us all the nice pieces, like the old phones and signage. A excellent choice in a lovely city. We will return for a longer stay!

There is not much to say except that it was exceptional, the host is simply amazing, he has so much energy to share with guests, provides recommendations, bless him! The location was stunning, close drive to many restaurants, you can see the mountains from there. I am staying there again when in the valley. Vila Real is a nice town with all factilities available, some nice and affordabled places to eat or have a drink. It is within 30 minutes of driving from the Douro valley. A great ride will bring you in the wineries over there. Be prepared that wine tasting in the Douro valley is overpriced.

Very hot but what a quaint place.

Very hot but what a quaint place. Loved thecmin street and the little surrounding streets. So much history, many churches and amazing views across to the big viaduct if you follow the main street down to the old cemetery . Delightful place.

There is a good choice of restaurants and bars in town.

There is a good choice of restaurants and bars in town. Same goes for shops - no big stores but quite a lot of independent small businesses. There is a walkway across the valley which takes you past streams and small waterfalls and is worth the effort. The walkway has been re-furbished and is worth the effort to go across. Best to wear trainers or similar.

The staff is very friendly and helpful, particularly Angela - who helped us with the reservation and with excellent hints and tourist information after our arrival. The place is an oasis of environmental tranquility, having beautiful gardens, trees, birds and an overall ecological approach. Vila Real is also pet friendly, which for us represented an enormous advantage. If a hotel does not accept our dog we would not patronize it. The location is excellent, not far from the city centre, from the House of Mateus and not far from the Douro Valley vineyards. The breakfast was good and the service always friendly. Excellent, we do recommend Vila Real.

The location was the best but you cannot go for walks - the location is best for visiting Mateus. It is outside the town. The dining room has classical interior but what spoils it is a large tv screen blaring out programmes like in a motorway restaiurant

Breakfast was lovely! All locally produced foods, eggs cheese and bread! Fresh orange juice! We had no tv in our room ( some rooms do have tv’s) but this wasn’t a big deal! Would have appreciated another mirror-in the main bedroom as the the bathroom had the only one but again we managed. I had my tablet so accessed everything I needed on that. The honesty shop sold wine beer bread and snacks at vey reasonable prices! Ginas restaurant down the road was great and very cheap

Really loved both the location and staff. Super nice people, flexible enough for our needs at the time. Located in the beginning of Alvão Natural Park, it was a 6 to 10 minute drive to Vila Real, really showing how well positioned the location was. We didn't took advantage of their pools and jacuzzi, since we were more outdoor, hiking people.

I felt like being at home with my family ready to help me. The owners were so nice that they even drove me daily to the event location. The location is brand new. The place is calm and cozy. If I will ever need to come back to Vila Real, I will definitely book here again.
