Because of the cyclone Belal, it was unfortunately not possible to stay in the accommodation, the route to the town was blocked. However, I'd like to emphasize how professionally Jacques André handled the situation. He kept me well informed about things, informed me promptly about the fact that the route to the town was blocked after the cyclone and he immediately and proactively offered a solution. That's a perfect example for superb customer service and experience.

We stayed in a district of Salazie, in Mare-à-Vieille-Place.

We stayed in a district of Salazie, in Mare-à-Vieille-Place. Absolutely lovely. Friendly people. Shops. A beer at Patrick's, a prayer in the spiritual church, a walk to the viewpoint. Life is peaceful. Salazie itself has more shops, a larger church, a friendly post office, and sometimes they have their famous grilled chicken.

Salazie is very small, but nearby Hellbourg is more...

Salazie is very small, but nearby Hellbourg is more interesting for a short stay. The village is large with a lovely market, numerous shops and restaurants, and many varied hiking trails. The locals are very friendly and always ready to help and offer good advice.

I'm already familiar with Salazie from previous visits.

I'm already familiar with Salazie from previous visits. Especially when it's so hot on the coast, cooling off in the mountains is highly recommended, here at an altitude of about 700 meters. The landscape is picturesque, and the people are very friendly. A trip to Hell-Bourg or the Col de Boeuf is highly recommended.

Such a beautiful place to stay! Nesting birds, farmland, palmtrees, mountains and a very well kept garden with flowers everywhere! The lady of the house keeps the property in an excellent state and everything is as clean as in a 5 star hotel. Furthermore, she is very attentive and serves an epic breakfast, directs you to the few restaurants around and the property is very close to hiking trails that go into Mafate.

Location was very convenient, just a short walk to the main street. Reception staff were very welcoming and helpful. The room was big, spotlessly clean, with a very comfortable bed. The whole hotel had a wonderful ambience. Breakfast was excellent, with very special home-made jam. I love this hotel so much, I will come back and spend more time.
