We spent a 10-day winter break with a kiddo and will remember this time well. The weather wasn't great, it rained sometimes, but it was about 10 degrees in January and we could enjoy the fresh mountain air on walks. There are no other houses in the area, so it is quiet here. The area is surrounded by a small forest, and in summer you can spend more time in the garden, surrounded by fruit trees and vines. The house is comfortable, well-decorated and equipped, nothing is missing. The bedroom is a kind of mezzanine above the living room, accessible by stairs. There is a dining room and a basement with the necessary equipment. Just stock up on food and you can stay at this place for a long time. In winter, you can heat the house with a wood stove or use an electric heater or air conditioning, which also serves its purpose in the summer. Driving uphill to the house can be problematic for cars with a very low suspension, but it is not a problem because you can leave your car 50 m away. The owner is helpful and ready to meet your expectations.

I would like to personally thank the owner for kind and pleasent service. She greeted us, showed the rooms, even asked if we needed washing machine. Seems like normal thing, right? It was the energy that she had, so we felt very welcome. Apartment was amazing, spacious, there was full kitchen, bathroom. Apartments are located in quiet neighbourhood and it is a short drive to get to Tolmin or get to major roads.

Mirjam and her husband are very kind and cordial hosts. They helped us whip up a breakfast as we were in a hurry, even though this is not normally included. We were even assisted by mr. Kacafura (an experienced mechanic) with our bike chain problem. I highly recommend this accommodation!

Since the apartment is right next to a church, we were kindly provided with earplugs in case the bell wakes us up. 😊 The bed was very comfortable, and we really liked the look and design of both the room and the apartment. Newly adapted apartment in an independent smart house (solar panels, rain water collection, heat pump). Must visit for all eco-freaks. Hosts are extremely friendly and flexible. Drinking water provided on site. Clean and comfy. Fully equipped kitchenette (cooking top, kettle, air fryer), kitchen utensils. Terrace with stunning views. Beautiful furnishing and deco (stone and wood). Mezzanine room is classy. There is not a single thing we found inconvenient. The charm of the estate is in its isolation, so if you are not prepared for a 30 min drive to the first restaurant, rather avoid this property, or plan better. Above all, there is a small Okrepčevalnica ("refreshment bar") in Vrtače itself. For activity freaks there are numerous hiking and cycling trails around and water sports opportunities on Soča river, as well as wine tasting possibilities in Primorska region. If you are looking for tranquil getaway, this is the place. Forests, meadows, villages and views in the vicinity of this property are simply stunning.
