We have stayed all over the US and Europe and this was the best hospitality I’ve ever had from a host on booking. They provided a document with very thoughtful details to make our arrival and short stay a relaxing and memorable experience. We rented two apartments for our group and both are lovely, clean, great amenities. Pros: Comfortable beds and good water pressure in the showers, coffee and tea provided, lots of tourist information for the Soca valley, restaurant recommendations, pictures to help with arrival and parking.

This was our favorite place that we stayed at during our trip in Slovenia! I wish we had stayed more than one night as it would definitely have been worth it. The hosts were kind and gave us recommendations on what we could do in the area and even made a reservation for us at a lovely restaurant nearby. It is in a really peaceful area and you can enjoy some coffee on the balcony with a beautiful view. Thank you for the wonderful stay!

Kobarid is a nice little town situated on Soča river between Tolmin and Bovec. There are numerous possibilities of outdoor activities such as hiking, cycling, paragliding, kayaking or simply taking a dip in stunningly turquoise Soča. Short drive to Nadiža river which is also beautiful. Kozjak waterfall and hanging bridges are obligatory to visit.

Kobarid is a very charming place, ideal for an active vacation. However, there aren’t many cycling routes separate from the main road, which can sometimes feel inconvenient or less safe. Compared to other nearby towns, Kobarid is quite small.

Kobarid is a nice town by the river Soca with only cca 1000...

Kobarid is a nice town by the river Soca with only cca 1000 inhabitants, but as a regional center the town serves a cca 5000 heads strong community. Worth to visit the Kobarski Muzej (WWI museum), the town center with the church, restaurants and very very good ice cream. Do not miss to climb up to the church and Italian monument, check out the Napoleonov most (Napoleon's bridge) and the Slap Kozjak (Kozjak waterfall). These are all accessible on foot. You can also take a tour following a marked hiking trail, see the beautiful nature, the mountains, the emerald color of the Soca river, historical monuments line WWI trenches and forts all along the river. Enjoy yourselves!

My visit to Kobarid (Caporetto) was primarily to spend time...

My visit to Kobarid (Caporetto) was primarily to spend time in its superb war museum and the WWI open air museum on the Kolovrat 15 kms to the east. As mid-September is classed as 'out-of-season' getting to the latter proved difficult (no public transport out of season!) but with the kindness of strangers - the people of Kobarid - I was able to make it there. The scenery in this part of Slovenia is spectacularly beautiful, the people of Kobarid warm, helpful and friendly. I hope to go back some day.

Kobarid is great for hiking.

Kobarid is great for hiking. Unfortunately I was there when it was raining for days and didn't dare to do longer hikes. There is a great museum in town, but after having seen that, there's not much to do when the weather is bad. When the weather is nice, there are many great hiking routes from and to here, and buses also help you get back from Tolmin or Bovec. Unfortunately some other non-round hikes end in Magozd or Dreznica and there is no public transportation to get back to Kobarid. I would definitely recommend the town for 1-2 days to pass through, see the Napoleon bridge and Kozjak waterfall, and check the museum!

Kobarid was an excellent base to see sites around the Soca valley. We particularly enjoyed the pass to Predil with its ruined fortresses, the Boka waterfall, the WW1 museum, the Italian mausoleum, and the trench lines at Kolovrat.

The view was fantastic. Perfect location, quiet neighborhood, close to the village Kobarid and by car in 10 min drive from Soča Valley! My friend and I love walking and the area invites you to enjoy nature! The appartment was clean and had everything you need. We had chosen the apartment with sauna (infrared) and this was nice and had enough space. We had breakfast at our nice terrace! The owner was friendly, easy to reach and gave us nice tips!

We had such a lovely stay at a cab! Lidija and Vinko are so generous and kind people who make you feel like home. They welcomed us with a great liquer and lemonade and even our dog got some treats! As a goodbye gift Lidija gave us delicious homemade cake and a postcard. We made sweet memories thanks to them. And the cottage Drežnica is a beautiful little piece of nature near Kobarid.

It was very clean and brand new premisses. They take care of all the details for comfort and safety. The kitchen has all the necessary things for cooking and storage your food, even the possibility to label them to put into the fridge. The bathroom was clean and tidy, confortable showers and beds. Location! Right in the middle of Kobarid with a view to the centre. Near cafes, restaurants. Parking! You have parking for up to 2 cars, just in front of the apartment. Spa! You got sauna and a whirlpool. If you spend your days in the cold river,you will love this. Price! A really good and fair price. I hope it stays this way. . I will return!
