Very close to the airport, 10 min by car, perfect for the first few days on the island or the last few prior to departure. More than a couple of nights here is enough as there is very little to do at nights. If you get a motorbike though it becomes one of the best places to stay as everywhere else is within an easy journey. The hotel restaurants are generally better than the established burger/pizza/steak places. Not saying they're bad but there there are better available. There seem to be fewer local Thai eateries around than used to be the case however the ones that are there are pretty good. Discovered a lovely little cafe/restaurant that I thought at first was purely Vegan but caters for all tastes and the food is all healthy and stuff...not a bad thing after a night on the beverage of choice. The other thing you should be aware of is that now cannabis has been legalised there are shops and "cafes" everywhere...even a very nice "up market" restaurant that has a full a la carte menu of cannabis infused food in addition to the standard menu items...interesting concept. Bangrak Beach is certainly not the nicest area on Koh Samui...
Bangrak Beach is certainly not the nicest area on Koh Samui but it's conveniently close to the airport and the Bangrak Beach Pier to take the ferry over to Koh Phangang. Therefore a good place to spend a night if your flight arrives/departs too late/early for the ferry to Koh Phangang.Guest review byMarcoNetherlands
