This is a wonderful hotel! While my friends stayed at L'Auberge, I chose Dar Ayed and loved it. It is run by wonderful, helpful locals from the small town and I don't think the photos do the beautiful place justice. The watchtower is wonderful to climb and get a view (with a friendly cat companion). The rooms were beyond comfortable and very stylish - I was inspired to buy my own beautiful woven bedspread! There is a pool, lots of outdoor hangouts and views for days. The gardens are beautiful with fresh flowers and veg. Finally I had the best meal of my 2 weeks in Tunisia here (and food is a big part of why I travel). An incredible bean stew, appetizers, goat in tajine, dessert, fresh fruit. It was delightful and the staff was so lovely. I felt very safe and well-cared for as a solo female traveller.

Hôtel Les Berbères is a gem! This family-run troglodyte-style hotel has been around since 1975, and you can feel the tradition and warmth. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. The rooms, carved into the rocks, are super unique, well-furnished, and come with a private toilet and shower. And the food? Absolutely amazing! For just 25 dinars, you get a massive dinner : soup, salad with brick, main dish, and dessert. Good luck finishing it all! 😄 Plus breakfast is included. A fantastic place to stay for an authentic and cozy experience!

What a fantastic place and a wonderful host! He was so kind and helpful, even helping us get dinner when we arrived late. He even prepared an amazing breakfast for us, even though it wasn't included in the package. We were so pleased!

Habib was amazing and took good care of us during the whole trip. The room was very clean and the food (both breakfast and dinner) was delicious, fresh and homemade. We felt like home and we really enjoyed the hospitality. The location was also stunning surrounded by palm trees and just 1.5 drive from the desert.

Big kind welcome by Joseph. He understood what two weary cyclist needed after a day in 35+ temperatures. Even let us choose from two big apartments and threw in a free breakfast at five!! In the morning so we could start pedaling in agreeable temperatures.. big 10 out of 10
