An Unforgettable Stay at Doda Artisanal Hotel ✨ Our stay at Doda Artisanal Hotel in Cappadocia was truly exceptional — from the moment we arrived to the moment we (reluctantly) left, we felt completely at home. The hospitality, kindness, and generosity of the staff is unmatched. A special thank you to Ata — a true gentleman — whose warmth, knowledge, and attention to detail made our experience seamless. He went above and beyond, allowing us to check in early and out late due to our flight times, welcoming us with complimentary coffee, and walking us through tours, local tips, and everything Cappadocia has to offer. The breakfast was a dream — so delicious and filling that I looked forward to it each night before bed. Huge thanks to the wonderful ladies who prepared it with such care — their kindness and smiles made every morning special. Our room was spotless, the bed extremely comfortable, and the plunge pool was the perfect place to cool off after exploring. The hotel itself is stunning, with a design that thoughtfully pays tribute to the essence of Cappadocia. Every corner is picture-perfect, with unique artistic touches that make the space feel curated and cozy. The location is ideal — everything is within walking distance, yet the hotel still offers peace and tranquility. We didn’t want to leave. Doda truly felt like a home away from home, and I couldn’t recommend it more. Everything was amazing! Staff and management were super friendly. They did everything possible to make our stay a memorable one. it’s a fabulous property with very spacious family rooms and wonderful views overlooking the Ortahisar Town and Castle. the staff is extremely helpful and Co-operative. They went out of the way to make our stay memorable and organise our tours in and around Cappadocia. A big thank you to Barfin for organising our hot air balloon trip in extremely short notice and for organising our Car with Tahir (extremely patient and happy gentleman). Thank you Mr Murad (owner of the place) for personally welcoming up on our arrival and guiding us during our stay.

A Fantastic Experience!!! We loved our stay here, everything from the exquisite cave interior to the lovely warm friendly owners! Our Cave room was exceptional both in decor and facitlities. The location is perfect for a quieter, more authentic cappadocian village experience away from the crowds, the main attractions still close by with some great Restaurants located near by too. Easily the best accomodation we had on our 6 week holiday and I would love to stay again!!!

Staffs are really accommodating - Mr Ahmet communicated with us all throughout our stay and made sure we experience the best service. He cooked us delicious turkish breakfast with fantastic view in their reception window outlooking the valleys. Our room’s clean and cozy. Location’s quiet as well. Everything was amazing and definitely will recommend.

We had a lovely stay, everything was great. The room looked like the advertised picture, and there was free outdoor parking space next to the accomodation where we could park our rental car. Breakfast was very nice, cooked fresh. They helped us find a hot air balloon trip (to note: prices varied by day, but we found a day that was affordable for us). The staff were very friendly and helpful.

I recently stayed at a new hotel located in a quiet area. The hotel has been built and decorated in an authentic style, adding to a pleasant atmosphere. A good night's sleep is essential to me, and thankfully, this was achievable here due to the peaceful environment. The room and bathroom were spacious, with a jacuzzi available. The room and bathroom were tidy and clean, something I always appreciate. The option of free parking at the hotel was an added advantage. The staff were friendly and helpful. They arranged enjoyable sightseeing tours and hot air balloon rides for us at reasonable prices. We also enjoyed breakfast on the terrace, which offered a nice view. I would recommend a stay at this hotel due to the good service, the pleasant atmosphere, and the neat rooms. I believe you will not regret this.

This was a great stay, the room with the hottub was perfect, super cool and comfy. The staff were really kind and helpful. They prepared an amazing vegan breakfast for us, even though we forgot to give them notice. Would love to stay there again.

    Ortahisar is a beautiful little town.

    Ortahisar is a beautiful little town. It’s quite quiet but a short taxi ride into slightly busier Goreme. I’m glad we stayed in Ortahisar though as it was much more relaxing and quaint. Hisarönü Restaurant was our favourite place to eat - fantastic food, lovely Cappadocian wine and shisha. We even got given a free slice of cake as it was the owners birthday. Highly recommend!

    Ortahisar is a small and cosy city, with a good mix of tourists and locals. There are several nice hotels, good restaurants, the castle, a panoramic view, and you can see the balloons in the morning. The city is calm and has good prices compared with the nearby city of Göreme. I recommend Ortahisar as a destination when visiting Cappadocia.

    Ortahisar is a lovely town about 15minure drive away from the hustle and bustle of Goreme - I’m so glad we stayed here. All the tour companies will pick up from the hotel so it’s no hassle if you don’t have a car.

    Ortahisar is a village still undergoing "renovation" and less frequented compared to neighboring villages like Göreme, Uçhisar, and Ügrüp, which are decidedly more "charming." Nonetheless, it's an excellent accommodation option and serves as a starting point for exploring Cappadocia, especially if you have your own car for getting around.

    Its less touristy than Goreme.

    Its less touristy than Goreme. Also it is closer to the Keyseri airport. Nearby towns like Urgup are better and cheaper for shopping and eating although Goreme is not very far. If you want Indian, Korean, or American fast food Goreme is the place though. Ortahisar is quieter than Goreme.

    This is a town that is close to all the main sights in...

    This is a town that is close to all the main sights in Cappadocia (about 10 minutes' driving) but has still not become too touristy. If you want a more authentic experience of Cappadocia, go here. If you prefer to have restaurants and cafes with staff who speak fluent English and shops selling souvenirs and carpets, you are better off going to Goreme or Uchisar. To us, Goreme is too commerical so we hope Ortahisar maintains its "local" feel. The town is quite small and has a quaint castle that is like a miniature version of the more famous Uchisar castle, which you can climb to get a good view of the area. Everyone is very friendly and tries very hard to make you feel welcome, even when you don't share a common language. You can eat at Beey Kebap and Hisaronu in the main square - they don't look fancy but the food is good and honest. You can have tea with a view of the hills also by the square at Cafe Ali'nin Yeri. And don't miss the wine cave just next to the castle entrance, called Kalesi restorant where you can try local wines including some that are mixed with fruit juice. There is a market on some days of the week on the corner of Ali Kayacan Cd. and Hibe Dede Cd., and a small bakery called Seten Pide Firini where you can get fresh pide (Turkish pizza). The town is still very cheap compared to Goreme and Uchisar. You don't need a car to get around since it's quite small and easily walkable.
