I went there because of the fireworks and it is spectacular. There were a lot of stalls selling snacks, food, and craft works and there were beautiful lights along the river so while waiting for the fireworks, you can spend the time with a leisure and yummy walk.

Yilan County is backed by the Central Mountain Range and has the Lanyang Plain in front as its heartland. Its main axis extends from Toucheng in the north, through Jiaoxi, Yilan, Luodong, and Dongshan, to Su'ao in the south. The surrounding townships of Yuanshan, Zhuangwei, Sanxing, Liujie, Datong, and Nan'ao form its left and right arms. The Lanyang and Dongshan rivers flow eastward into the ocean, forming its main artery. The plains offer expansive views, with lush rice paddies everywhere. Although there are luxurious farmhouses every few steps, they are only two or three stories high, and the houses are far apart, so they are not visually unappealing. If it can be managed properly, so that the fields are cultivated, the trees are planted, and the sewage is drained where it should be, then it is a minor flaw that does not outweigh the merits.

Absolutely loved my stay; it’s a comfortable 10mins walk from the Dongshan station. The place is beautifully designed and gave everyone a really welcoming feeling. The host is really hospitable and knowledgeable, always ready to offer suggestions around the area. Smart toilet was a lovely touch to the entire experience.
