The location was perfect for our purposes of hiking and river tracing while also being near convenient amenities like the train station and a 7-11. The host was warm and friendly and eager to go above and beyond what we could have hoped for. The host really made the "home stay" feel like a home during our short time. The rooms were impeccably clean and spacious and included complementary fruit and bottled water. All the essential toiletries were also included which was nice not to worry about as well (towels, shampoo/bodywash, soap, etc.)

Nice and simple place, nothing fancy not touristy at all but beautiful nature and a nice river to dive into around the corner. Friendly people all around. Breakfast is right across the street so you kind of immerse in the village life. The son of the owners is well on his way to become a good musician and eager to practice some english. Very easy to feel welcome and at home here, at least for me.

The room was very charming, clean and comfortable with water, coffee and tea at disposal. The balcony and the view provide sweet relaxing moments. The beach nearby is peaceful and beautiful. The breakfast is correct with a choice of fruit, local dishes and beverages. The hotel staff is ecceptional and really customer oriented by giving information and tips for your stay.

Convenient place to stay if you want to travel to Taroko gorge. From Xincheng you can take a 10min bus to the entrance of the park and beat the crowds to do Shakadang at 7am. The room is basically a cabin inside a hotel so it feels like you’re in a hotel. Everything is clean, fancy, and modern. You can enjoy all the facilities of a hotel (except the pool). There are only 4 beds in the dorm which is great and I was completely alone on my first night there.

Beautiful views from the hotel room. The staff were incredibly helpful, and really made an effort to accommodate English-speakers! We were initially considering cancelling our booking when we discovered that the Taroko National Park was still closed. However, we’re so glad we didn’t! We hiked to Luyi Lake from Shoufeng (trains are easy from Xincheng-Taroko station, a five-minute walk from the hotel). We cycled down the coast, and spent an entire day exploring the wonderful city of Hualien. Even without Taroko, this area is still very much worth a visit, and this hotel is the perfect place to stay while you do!

Very hospitable wife and husband, thankful for their help in bringing us around when I got sick cause of some food at the night market. Clean place and comfortable beds. If you stay here, definitely get the breakfast because it's homemade, great portions and really delicious.
