The staff and dedication to detail was outstanding. The place is very well taken care of and the food was excellent. We got upgraded to the newly built rooms. The area was quiet and the balcony was overlooking the sea. We felt like we were in paradise!! They made a big effort to make it eco friendly, which we loved. We will definitely go back! Butiama Marine Camp is the perfect place to stay in Utende. There are so many activities, Meals are amazing, and the Beach is very walkable and quiet. Would absolutely recommend to all. While it can be a bit pricey with Marine Park fees, it is absolutely worth the convenience and comfort.

The bungalows are very cozy, super clean and the staff is extremely friendly 👌👍 The owner took us on a day trip with snorkeling and diving and had a lot of tips for us. He joined us for lunch and dinner and had an answer to all of our questions regarding whale sharks, diving, beaches etc. 100% recommendation !

We had an incredible stay at this lodge, and a big part of that was thanks to the amazing owner. He is truly one of the kindest and most helpful hosts we’ve ever met. When the airline failed to deliver our bags, he personally took charge—calling every day, staying in touch with the airline, and doing everything he could to make sure we got our luggage back. We felt so supported and cared for. He also organized all of our activities, and they were fantastic: turtle hatching, a trip to the mange sandbank with a beach BBQ and snorkeling, a visit to the north of the island, Chole Island snorkling trips and whale shark watching. Everything was smooth, well-planned, and stress-free thanks to him. The lodge isn’t right on the beach, but the owner provides bikes for free, and with them it’s a quick and easy ride to the shore. The rooms are comfortable and air-conditioned! Dinner at the lodge is optional each day, and it’s a full three-course meal (starter, main, dessert) for just $15. The portions are generous and the food was consistently delicious. Overall, the atmosphere was welcoming, relaxed, and safe. We truly felt at home here and highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.

The food was delicious. The staff were very accommodating, and the location is close to all of the major activities i.e. snorkeling, sailing, tours, scuba, … I also really like that Mafia BB is the only locally owned accommodation with all local staff. All of the other locations I visited in Utende are owned by foreigners with a slightly uncomfortable dynamic with local staff.

it’s private, spacious and fits well with the nature. The bed is comfortable, staff vas very nice and yummy food. There is a choice of fresh seafood for lunch and dinner and fresh fruits available. Th ask pretty much all what we eaten the whole time and was really delicious. There is also a bar and bed hammocks which was great for relaxing. Hassan the host Organise a whale shark tour for us which we really enjoyed as that was the main reason. for visiting Mafia.

We absolutely loved our stay at Kileleni. It’s a great little hotel, the perfect place to chill out or enjoy the island from. The rooms and grounds are beautifully looked after and the pool is a great spot for a dip. The food was all very nice but the best thing about the place was definitely the staff. Ali and his crew were so kind and friendly, there wasn’t anything they wouldn’t do to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. Would definitely recommend for your stay in Mafia Island.
