Fabulous stay, great location and everyone super nice! We took trips and the staff/owners couldn't have been nicer. The image is from our Whale Shark excursion, I love it! Such a moody day but we reached and found these beautiful, gentle sea giants. 🤍🖤🤍

We just finished our 3 day stay in Mafia and at Mafia Island Bungalows : it was a lovely stay, all-round : beautiful space for the house, comfortable terrace, perfect bedroom (Upendo - very nicely decorated with local flair, loved it), great bathroom… everything fine! The place is overall very quiet as it sits a little away from the road at the entrance of the Marine Park. We did not meet the owners, who where on a trip off the island : however, they took the time to check-in with us every single day, and it was much appreciated. We also would like to adress a great shout out to the staff : Hassan was very available, without being « too present » / just the right balance; and there is an amazing Chef on premises: we loved the breakfasts and even more the diners! The homemade bread and Chapatis, the soups, the mains and the deserts… everything was delicious ! Well done, we whole-heartedly recommend staying with you when visiting Mafia and hope to come again one day ☺️

We had an incredible stay at this lodge, and a big part of that was thanks to the amazing owner. He is truly one of the kindest and most helpful hosts we’ve ever met. When the airline failed to deliver our bags, he personally took charge—calling every day, staying in touch with the airline, and doing everything he could to make sure we got our luggage back. We felt so supported and cared for. He also organized all of our activities, and they were fantastic: turtle hatching, a trip to the mange sandbank with a beach BBQ and snorkeling, a visit to the north of the island, Chole Island snorkling trips and whale shark watching. Everything was smooth, well-planned, and stress-free thanks to him. The lodge isn’t right on the beach, but the owner provides bikes for free, and with them it’s a quick and easy ride to the shore. The rooms are comfortable and air-conditioned! Dinner at the lodge is optional each day, and it’s a full three-course meal (starter, main, dessert) for just $15. The portions are generous and the food was consistently delicious. Overall, the atmosphere was welcoming, relaxed, and safe. We truly felt at home here and highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.

We liked everything. We booked tents. It was better than we expected. we had normal and clean beds, the washroom was near to the tent and very clear, cleaned regularly. The food was very good, and it has reasonable price.

Godfrey and his team, specially Daudi made our stay very pleasant. Always attentive and kind. The room was spacious and cleaned everyday. Hot water, good pressure, mosquito net, AC, everything was perfect. The restaurant is, undoubtedly, the best of the area.

Located in a quiet area next to the beach this small place to stay is a hidden gem. Each room is its own little bungalow, with high ceilings, AC and fan, big glass doors and a covered verandah looking over the sea, and good quality bathroom with plenty of hot water for shower. Beautifully maintained flower-edged sandy paths leading to the central restaurant/bar area with nearby places to lie on sheltered swinging beds and the beach. Simple yet filling breakfast consisting of served fruit, juice, eggs, toast and pancake. Lunch and dinner could be ordered with choice of fresh grilled seafood, chicken, beef, with salad/vegetables and small fruit-based desert. The grilled fish was excellent, but not always available depending on the local catches of the day. Friendly and helpful staff with many interesting activities to do when not relaxing! Organised reef snorkeling, BBQ lunch on a sandbar, and whale sharks.

We had an amazing 6 days stay. here..Mussa the owneris a very nice man,good energy very friendly and always up to help you, and giving sugestion for day trips and aranging them for you And he is a great chef, we had incredible good lunches and dinners.I can highly recomend to stay here. All the personal are very friendly. Our bungalow was very nice, big bed,big bathroom and with our own terrace with great viwe to the garden and the sea.
