What an absolute gorgeous gem of a hotel in Stone Town. Truly authentic building and decor and incredible bedrooms. I stayed in the ‘Kate’ room which was utterly delightful. Beautiful private terrace overlooking the town, enormous bedroom (beautifully decorated) and an open-air bathtub adjoining. Super private. Gorgeous to wake up in the morning and open the doors and feel the breeze filter through. Beautiful bed linen and towels (woven locally) and handmade soaps. If you are into aesthetics, then this is the place for you. I can’t say enough to rate the hotel. All the staff were absolutely delightful and super attentive (as a single female traveller it was very much appreciated). The Manager was extremely kind and friendly. Also organised a fantastic private tour of the town for me which was brilliant. The rooftop restaurant is to die for. The best, authentic and freshest of food I have ever eaten.The taster plate experience with sunset and cocktails was dreamy. Amazing views and ambiance. Didn’t want it to end! The Secret Garden restaurant is also absolutely worth a visit. I attended on a Friday evening when there was live music being performed. Truly magical. Again, the food was just amazing and the staff all super kind.

Our flight arrived very early in the morning, so we were already at the hotel at 6 o'clock in the morning. Initially they told us that we would have the room ready around 7 o'clock and that we could stay at the pool until then. They came back in about 10-15 minutes and informed us that they would give us another room with an ocean view, so we got a free room upgrade. The very nice room, on the first floor, with a huge balcony on which there were 2 armchairs and a bed, the view of the harbor is extraordinarily beautiful. Too bad I only stayed there one night.

This is absolutely a gem in Stone Town. Right in the middle of Stone Town, everything is close. Room was spacious and comfortable. AC was working well and there was mosquito net as well. They also was asking in the evening if you want your room to be spayed with mosquito repellent. The design of hotel is awesome. Breakfast is basic but delicious. Staff is helpful.

At arrival, the staff was welcoming; check-in was easy. I loved the quick responses on the Booking.com chat box. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the WiFi was really good. Actually, once inside the hotel, you can not tell you are near the busy streets of Stone Town. The AC was also working very well. I loved the paintings in the hallways, and the decor gave a nice, authentic Swahili/Arab royalty vibe. The hotel's location is good, with easy access to local restaurants and the market, and the ferry. It is 10 minutes from the airport. The pool was clean, and the garden was well-kept. I loved the complimentary birthday cake; it was so lovely of you. I will surely book the same place when in Zanzibar.
