As a Big Island resident, I think Kona is over rated and overpriced for what it is. I think it looks like a strip mine with some beaches. Ali'i drive shops has many vacancies. The location was the best. Condo was spacious & clean. Bed super comfy. The balcony was the best. One of the main reasons we chose it. Great ocean view. Sitting there listening to the waves was lovely. Close to lots of restaurants. Kona is very walkable but there's also a free bus that runs pretty often down Alli drive. Kailua-Kona has nice beach/ocean access along Ali'i Drive and there are a few good restaurants. Snorkeling was great due to the amount and variety of fish we saw. For us it was too expensive, too busy and traffic could be bad at times. We were super disappointed that we had to pay almost $30 for 2 hours of parking in one of the parking lots near to end of Ali'i' drive to have dinner out one night. All of the free street parking was full. $30...Outrageous! We might be done with all of Hawaii at this point due to crowding and costs.Guest review byTracy - 8.0

Sunset I stand atop the highlands of time, Watching the setting sun dye the sky gold. It is not a farewell, but a new departure— That brilliance is the edge of my life’s blade. Once I braved storms, dreams forged through sweat and tears; Now, with distilled wisdom, I march forth once more. The AC works really well and there are plenty of pools to choose from so it was never crowded. Location was good if you have a car. 15 minutes drive to old Kona town. Also very close to the Manta Rays snorkel area, which is 10 minutes walk away. It looks like the main drawcard of this resort is tennis and pickleball, because they have a massive number of courts which are very well maintained.Guest review byLaurenAustralia

The pool area is great and the facilities around the resort are awesome. We loved the hot tubs, pools, playgrounds, BBQ areas and all the other extras.
