Middletown is great for being outside the Mecca of Newport. And while in the hotel, I felt like I could have been anywhere in the world. It's that inviting and comfortable. We came for a 2 day AAU Basketball Tournament in Tiverton, and I chose to stay in Middletown overnight. I wish we could have stayed longer... I wanted to walk down memory lane having lived and Served in the USN in Newport, but alas I had to flutter back home. I loved that there were stores and restaurants close by, but the proximity to downtown Newport drew me to the coastal village that I once loved so much and still do. Loved coming back to hospitable Sonesta employees, working out in the gym for a spell, sitting in the Sun the next morning in the pool area. So warm and bright.Guest review byMaryUnited States - 10.0

The historical places are awesome especially the Breaker Mansion, nice fishing spots too but very limited accessibility for guests or visitors. Most of the beaches I tried to visit say, “For residents only, that requires a beach tag.” This kind of local policies will turn away tourists and will be a disaster for tourism. Fact, local residents pay taxes but Middletown could generate more income and will be great for local businesses if tourists guest will be treated properly and not turned away. All access to major stores and other services. Easy to drive locations. Driving to downtown Newport took about 10-15 mins depending on traffic but there are side streets to get around some of it. Heads up on speed limits and traffic lights! There are many of both.Guest review byWood - 10.0
Middletown is a gem.
Middletown is a gem. Surrounded by Newport and Portsmouth on Aquidneck Island. Beautiful beaches, great food, friendly people. Favorite places: Sachuest Beach, Sachuest Point Wildlife Refuge, Great eateries include Johnny's Seafood at the Wyndham Hotel, Atlantic Grille, Tickets, Chilli's and Chelsea's.Guest review byIan

If I found the information correctly, the hotel opened in April 2023. The hotel is quite old. It can be seen that repairs have been done for a long time, but everything is neat and clean there. The rooms are spacious. There is a swimming pool. The beach is literally 50 meters from the hotel and its 1 minute walk to the Cliff Walk by car. Our room was large and airy with everything we needed. Sparkling clean and a lovely comfy bed. Breakfast was a buffet which was ample and fully stocked. The lady on the desk, BJ, was so welcoming, ready to give advice on places of interest and places to eat. So helpful, and made us feel right at home.
