FAQs about hotels in Seattle

The Emerald City

Nicknamed the Emerald City due to its lush greenery, Seattle is best known for its great waterfront, fantastic skyline and infamous rainy weather. In reality though, the city gets less rain a year than New York or Atlanta!

One look at Seattle’s skyline and you’re immediately drawn to its most iconic building, the Space Needle. Standing proudly at 184 metres, this major landmark features a rotating restaurant at 150 metres and was featured on numerous films and TV shows, including the classic "Sleepless in Seattle".

The Needle stands not far from the popular Pike Place Market, a public farmer’s market selling fresh produce and crafts from local farms and independent merchants. It’s also a place where Starbucks Corporation was founded in 1971, and today you can enjoy a cup of coffee in their original store! Seattle has many popular parks and, thanks to its mild marine climate, is a great place for outdoor activities. A visit to Kerry Park to admire the best view of the city with Mt. Rainier in the background is a must!

Arriving at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, you’re only about 35 minutes from the centre of the city and whether you’re looking for a hotel with free parking or near the airport, Booking.com offers a great choice for your Seattle trip.

It was vibrant & young city & good food & lots of place to see & easy walking with good views. There are homelessness problems though… you see them throughout the city which makes you feel unsafe especially at night time. If you stays & tour day time, you would enjoy the city better.

Great stopover on the way to Canada.

Great stopover on the way to Canada. Please note ferries from Seattle do not leave every day as advertised. I think 2 full days minimum. The chihuly gardens next to the needle are truly beautiful. Mopop surprisingly fun and a good coffee in iits cafe.

Was a nice trip but a few positive and negatives worth mentioning. Positives - I had heard there was a major homeless problem here, but we did not encounter much at all near the tourist areas were we stayed. Pretty place on the water with many options to do like taking a ferry to Bainbridge, Pike Market and the 3 attraction spaced close together by Space Needle. Negative - The food was soooo overpriced where $25 burgers are the norm. Service fees really irked me where you receive your bill and there is a mandatory 5% service fee that states this does not go to the server but is used for rising costs (then add it to the prices instead of doing it this way).

Wondeful places to visit including plke street market, flowers fish and totally unique stalls and shops. New landscaped promenade.Must do Space needle and Chihuly glass gardens. People friendly. 2 really good wool/ yarn shops, So much yarn and yarn dragon. Both really good with helpful staff. Worth spending the extra days around going to an Alaskian cruise. Just a lovely place to visit both scenically and for independent shops. oh, coffee...lots of really good ones.

We loved exploring Seattle and found many natural parks to walk in such as Discovery Park, Golden Gardens Park, and Carkeek Park. We also loved going to the Ballard Locks and watching all the boats go through. Both the Chiluly Museum and the Modern Pop Culture Museum were great.

Seattle has a few things of intrest but many of those things cost money. We were disappointed that the only Whale Watching bussiness was shut down while there. We did the double decker bus but it is expensive. We also did the Space needle and Gardens but again very expensive for what they are. Certain times are discounted but the tour bus doesnt corrilate with those times. Not a place with enough things going on for me to travel there again.
