Love this place, beaches and views are great.

Love this place, beaches and views are great. Try to catch it when it is not so foggy. Do not stay at The Inn of the Lost Cost. Run down and not maintained. overpriced. We had luxury spa suite, and the tub could not be used do to trickling hot water pressure. Told the manager within 15 minutes of us being there, he said he would call a plumber and get back to us. we were there for 3 days and never heard back from him and the problem was never fixed. Took 45 minutes to check in since the manager was not on site, office was wide open and nobody there. Had to call his cell and wait 30 min for him to come and help us. Asked for room to be cleaned on the 2nd day and maids said they forgot? Toilet kept plugging up and they had no plunger in the room, had to ask maids to fix.

My wife and I only stayed one night, but I don't understand the draw of this place. The drive is long and wearing. My brakes were smelling when we arrived at the hotel and they had recently been changed with new rotors. It's a lot of downhill driving on a curvy road. The cove itself if pleasant and it's nice to see the sea lions. However, limited food options and unless you are camping, limited choices for staying the night and they don't come cheap.

The rocky headlands were very nice and I spent quite a bit of time just hanging out watching to waves and birds. Didn't see any whales, but was told they have been around. The tide and waves were huge, so I didn't visit Black Sands Beach. I did spend some time on the south beach by the boat launch. It was nice, but people drive on it, which I don't care for. Ate at four different restaurants and for the most part they were okay.

The drive is very, very windy and lots of potholes.

The drive is very, very windy and lots of potholes. Travel during daylight. Of course, the view was excellent! The apartment was cute but in need of maintenance. This was advertised as a 2 bedroom. It is a 1 bedroom with a sofabed in the living room. The bed frame was broken. The dishwasher didn't work. The kitchen soap dispenser was broken and they left us a used sponge. The patio furniture was very wobbly, like the screws we very loose. Didn't feel safe. The throw pillows looked so used. It's a shame as it looks like a nice place but they do not pay attention to maintenance. The coffee pot is nice. K-cup or drip.Make sure to bring coffee grounds and condiments. Lots of deer to watch. I did love being so close to the ocean and the many, many deer. Bring your own food as there are not a lot of choices for breakfast and lunch. Great coffee bistro called Surp Point and a nice little bait shop that has a little bit of everything. The people in these shops are very friendly. I would go back, but stay somewhere else.

Clean area, friendly people. Relaxing area.

Clean area, friendly people. Relaxing area. View of the ocean is almost EVERYWHERE. Can sit in your vehicle or use available picnic tables to enjoy the view. Lots of seals to enjoy watching & listening to them 'bark'.

Friendly people, safe to walk on the beach or streets.

Friendly people, safe to walk on the beach or streets. Since ALL the food is trucked in, its a bit pricey but all VERY good & tasty. You can go out on a Charter boat to catch your own fish or get fish caught daily at an eatery. You can walk to all the eateries or drive with plenty of parking. We enjoyed the ocean views and mountain views depending on which direction we looked. Being close enough to the ocean, could EASILY hear it from almost everywhere.
